I heard that Rowlings was not a Christian. Is that correct?

I saw a televised interview with Rowlings.

Christ, religion, or Christianity was not alluded to in the hour long discussion.

As for me and MY house.......we will serve the Lord without Harry Potter.

A graduate of Exeter University, a teacher, and then an unemployed single parent, Rowling wrote Harry Potter when "I was very low, and I had to achieve something. Without the challenge, I would have gone stark raving mad." But Rowling has always written; her first book was called "Rabbit." "I was about six, and I haven't stopped scribbling since."

For Rowling, the change in her fortunes has been slightly bewildering. But her daughter has no doubt about her mother's new career: when asked what mommies do, she replies without hesitation, "Mommies write!"

Oh, man, not another Harry Potter thread. Haven't we beaten this dead horse enough?

If you faith is so weak that you must add the banning of Harry Potter to your doctrine, you need to work on strengthening your faith.

 

I agree with g_1933; some of us are also new to the board and we don't really know how much you have "beat" some topics to death. So instead of being rude just go onto some other thread that you have not beaten on so much! Thank-you for letting me vent (you guessed it ... a woman}

 

Don't worry about posting the same subjects again. That's expected. However, if anyone wants to see what has been talked about on that subject in the past, you can go to the upper right of your screen and click on "search". Then put the subject you are curious about in the box and click on search.

But very often, with any subject, there are new ideas, new things happening, new people to share thoughts with. That's what this board is for, so don't fuss about dead horses!

 

When I first began to study the Sabbath, I was directed to some information about how the pope had changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. After looking at this carefully, I began to look at what else in Christianity the pope had changed or attempted to change, Purgatory, praying to Mary etc etc.

So it is no surprise that the pope would o.k Harry Potter, Whether it is witchcraft, or people role playing witchcraft it is wrong by the bible.

Popes OK'd evolution, immaculate conception, veneration of saints, perfection of Mary, purgatory, etc. also! That sends a clear message to me. If it believes in heresy, teaches heresy, speaks heresy, proclaims heresy, it must be a heretic!
