"It just sounds to me like Danforth's sore that he lost the argument with a majority of the American people."

The standard sour grapes defense. How lame. Can anything possibly be more cliche?

It's just one more reason that christian people should divorce themselves from this apostate system and devote themselves to the preaching of the Gospel entirely. They have been suckered by the republican party. Danforth, I believe shows what they really believe. The only reason that they continue to have anything else to do with the christian "right" is because they need them for now. They know that they're naive and they're good for a lot of legwork. They work cheap and sell out easy.

The voice of the Christian right is only heard through the Republican Party. This attack is to be expected because Christianity is/will be under attack in the last days.

"The Christian right" is/will be under attack?
Those on "the Christian right" have the self perception that they are part of the establishment. Didn't James Dobson once say that he has sources in the White House, or something similar? I seem to recall that Pat Robertson also said something similar. I have seen pictures of Karl Rove giving speeches at Liberty University.

They do not appear to be under attack to me.....

I guess I mean the true "religion" of Christianity, Christ Himself is/will be under attack. And I view these believers as supporters of the Republican Party or independants, but certainly not supporters of the Democrat Party, which stands for so much evil.

Christianity is constantly under greater and greater attack. See removal of all things Christian from every vestage of govt. and Crosses being removed from so many cities hills, etc. See how currently Dobson and many others are being demonized by the enlightened left.

So are you saying that the GOP supporters are the real Christians, or that they are the "true 'religion' of Christianity?" I don't want to simply assume that you are saying this, so I am asking direct questions.

What about those American citizens who are Jewish, Muslim, Hindu/Jain/Sikh, Hari Krishna?
What about the athiests and agnostics? How about the Deists? What about the Unitarian Universalists?

I can only go by what Dobson says and what he does.......

    Regards anyway,

What I'm saying is that politically minded "Believers" should/could not support the Dems. The reasons are clear. Politically minded "believers" should only support the right wing, conservative, life loving, faction of the Republican prty, because to do/vote otherwise may make some sort of self satisfying statement, but is a waste otherwise. There are only 2 parties that hold all the marbles. Choose today whom you will serve.

About the cults, I have absolutely no interest in their protection or dissolution, and society isn't after them anyway, only Christ's followers.

Dobson is not one of my favorite Christain men, but he fights the good fight, for pretty much the right reasons.

If I become burdonsome to too many on here just tell me. My ideas and understandings aren't received well here anyway.

I don't see how any Bible believing christian who has any spirituality could support the republican party let alone the democrats.

Wow: you take polarization to a new level with this comment.

No, "politically minded 'Believers'" should pray about the issue, and vote how the Spirit leads. Again, you take polarization to a new level with this post.

Comments like this are starting to make me think that your Christianity is subordinate to your Republicanism. Again, you take polarization to a new level with this post.

That is by far the most un-American thing I can recall seeing posted to this board! Those people to whom I referred, and who you have called "cults" are AMERICANS!! They are just as AMERICAN as you are. They have the same freedom of religion (and freedom from religion) as you do. Members of these cults (BTW, I did not realize that Judiasm is a cult) are serving our country protecting us so that you can make such opprobrious statements as these.

Religious freedom is for all Americans, regardless of whether or not you agree with them.

And yet, in another discussion in this forum, it was noted that Dr. Dobson "has abandoned his pledge to never again vote for a politician willing to kill a single innocent child." I can see why you think "he fights the good fight."

IS IT ANY WONDER, WHEN YOU MAKE STATEMENTS LIKE THESE?

You have successfully supplanted my previous pick as the most polarized person on the board.
Congrats, as that was a tough thing to do......

I don't see how any Bible believing christian who has any spirituality could support the republican party let alone the democrats.

I see your point and agree to that small point, but. To give over to the voting public the ability to choose without the restraint offered by the Christian right is very wrong. And my perception is that the Democrat party is almost completely beyond redemption in the short time left, and the GOP is not. That is my view, right or wrong and trying to support and offer whatever Christian viewpoint I have is the only alternative left for me. I won't wast a minute in another party for now. You couldn't get a single party under any platform that just self proclaimed Baptists would support, let alone Christiandom at large.

You actually make it seem that the Rep's are worse than the Dem's. Did you mean to infer that, BJ?

I think that many of the Republicans are much worse than the Democrats, including this present administration specifically.

    OK BIR:
My viewpoint of those cults is that if any are to be saved out of them then great, but as to working to preserve their religions, I pass, unless it comes in piggyback on my Christian beliefs. I would not lift a finger to promote in any way a single person to any of those listed cults. No one is saved through them, and they deceive many.

If true about Dobson, and I seriously doubt it, I already said he wasn't one of my favorite Christians, but he is one very big voice for freedom and the unborn. Why would you say this: "I can see why you think he fights the good fight." while referencing that supposed flip flop of his?

My viewpoint is from a dispensational position, and I fully understand now that I am swimming upstream against heavy current, and don't expect many to see my point of view. But in all this time I've been on here I've found only a handful that actually see it and all of them know how to communicate the truth without alienating people. I don't seem able to. I spend hours on here each week and for nothing, it seems. I love the Lord and the things He has revealed to me and mine, and I always have a need to share it because it's so great, but I must find the right way and forum to do so. And in spite of my stubborness, I now realize, this place is not it.

    How telling.......
So, religious freedom only applies to like-minded people? Am I understanding you on this point?

I am still intrigued by the idea that Judiasm is a cult. I have never heard anyone seemingly make this observation.

You have answered your own question. Do I really have to explain that?

Oh, so your opprobrious comments are attributable to your love for the Lord? Wow.....

Hey, if you are so polarized that you believe all of what you have offered, I am cool with that. That is your right.

Thanks for the insight into your beliefs/values/opinons - they are interesting albeit very alarming,
