STEPS THAT LEAD TO UNGODLINESS

Romans 1.19-32

Here Paul openly and without any "political correctness" condemned any form of Homosexual and Lesbian behavior. Generally, Paul described here three different steps of how human being degrades in his/her soul and becomes godless and abominable to the Lord.

First, Paul started from people who heard and know about GOD'S existence and His Intelligent Creation of the physical world and entire universe, so, these who still refused believe in GOD and His Intelligent Creation of the world, 'they are without excuse." (verses19-20).

Those who knew about GOD existence and His origin but come up with their own theories about Him and speculate concerning Him and His Laws and "did not honor Him as GOD or give thanks...Professing to be wise they became fools," (verses 21-22) such people replace the glory of the Lord, His wisdom, and His moral standards with their own glory, wisdom, and standards, and look wise in their own eyes and in the eyes of others who are the same fools as one who teach them.

Because of such attitude toward GOD and of false teachings about Him, many turning to all sorts of false believes, false theories, and false teachings, and became worshipers and believers of false gods, of all sorts of mythology, and even in alien visitors who claim to be our ancestors.

For this reason, "GOD gave them over" to the madness and insanity of their own mind and they became spiritually unclean and repulsive to GOD. (verses 23-24).

This led such people to other despicable practices to which "GOD gave them over," such as "degrading passions...committing indecent acts," (verses 26-27) and "to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper" (verse 28).

These all indicate one thing that rejecting the glory of GOD'S Intelligent Creation and replacing Him and His creation with own delusional philosophies, concepts, schemes, and explanations, lead such people "to a depraved mind" and as consequence, "to do those things which are not proper" (28).

"GOD gave them over," might be understood as to leave them to their own device and schemes, and they drown in their own madness of godlessness and would not receive help and benefit of salvation, because in this state of their mind they are lost forever.

Description of their personality and character very well described in verses 29-31, which are very well known and seen in many people. As conclusion to such behavior and rejection of GOD and His glory, such people "are worthy of death," which has two meanings.

One meaning is the death penalty described in the Bible for people who worship other gods and things instead of worship GOD, and another meaning is the spiritual death, the death of the soul and the entrance to the Kingdom of GOD, means, they will completely lose their existence (verse 32).
