There were a few teens from our bus ministry who had shorts on today. Ok so maybe they aren't familiar with things. But there was a man in his 30s whose parents brought him up in the church, and he had on cargo shorts and a polo shirt, no socks and sneakers. Really? SHORTS to church? Jeans, shorts and flip flops and tanks are disrespectful in church unless you truly do NOT have anything else to wear.

At our church you will get anything from nice clean jeans to dirty jeans and muddy boots. We d not stand on unnecessary formalities and those who work livestock in the morning are not going to change before coming to church.

So there are no options for me up there.

One man came to church today wearing a collared shirt, long shorts and sandals. He also carried his Bible and brought his family.

I was glad he was there.

I don't get hung up on clothing as long as it is modest and clean.

Disrespectful to who? You? Your church culture? Or to God?

Morning Sunday, dress pants and polo shirt
Night Sunday, dress pants and polo shirt
Wednesday, clean jeans and polo shirt

Threw the coat and ties out years ago. They add nothing to the worship of God.

What should we wear to church?

Clothes .... by ALL means.

At my church, we have people dressed anywhere from looking as if they might be going grocery shopping to people who look like they are getting ready for the Easter parade.

I just honestly believe as someone who has been in church every time the doors open for 51 years, saved for 42 years, have seen many things/people/policies in the church come and go, has served on literally every committee and done almost every job....

.....I just don't think that clothes mean ANYTHING to the Lord. Decent clothes, yes. But a dress code that intimates levels of reverence and righteous and draws people to pass judgment on each other and compete for who's the most righteous one in the room? I ditched that stronghold in my heart and mind a long time ago.

Wear to church whatever you feel is appropriate. We worship God in our private worship at home in less that suits and ties and no one seems to have a problem with that. We should be modest in our dress.

I feel he was disresptful to GOD.

Just let people wear what they want to .
So what if a female comes in a bikini, or dasisy dukes, or a see-thru blouse.

Dont worry if you worked all week in the same overhalls, just as long as you show up.

Who cares that you get all spruced up for a wedding, then put those away until the next one.

Whoever came up those sayings must have beenon something high.....

Dont you think that is a little missing the point when comparing a suit and tie with dress pants and a polo shirt?
