Because I have only one original thought per day - here is what I posted on a previous thread:

For the Giants to win, they will have to knock brady on his keister as often or more as they did Romo, and Eli will again have to be perfect. The Giants have a weak secondary, the front four are going to have to pressure brady hard and often or brady and his receivers will kill them.

NE does not have the dominant D that they had a few years ago. Eli and his rbs will have some opportunities. They will have to do better than san diego did in the red zone (mr obvious man here) if they are going to have any chance at all.

I think NE blows the giants out, to make my early prediction of an undefeated season reality

It's well-known that only once before has a team been undefeated going into the Super Bowl, and we know that team won the SB. Twice earlier, in Halas' golden age, the Bears went undefeated in the regular season and lost the Championship Game. So, the reasoning can be that 2 out of 3 undefeateds lost the "big one;" or that it's likely different in the Super Bowl era and such great expansion of the NFL's popularity and coverage.

But I think the bigger question is about the Giants. For 2 months it was a virtual forgone conclusion that it would be Dallas or Green Bay as the NFC champion; at least since they played each other in November "for home field throughout the playoffs." Dallas won that game, but didn't make it to the NFC CG, losing to the Giants, and Green Bay, thought to have an even bigger home field advantage, also lost to the surging Giants. When has there been a season where 2 teams were, at least by record, head & shoulders above the pack-- er, 'the rest,' I should say-- and were both knocked off by an underdog; not necessarily a wild card?

One example was 38 years ago, in my earliest days of watching and understanding football. In the last year of the AFL, Kansas City upset Joe Namath's Jets, then upset the Oakland Raiders, then upset the prohibitive favorite Vikings in Super Bowl IV. I don't know if that's the best example of a situation like we might have this year, but with New England's close calls in their last several games, against the Giants and their big surge to get where they're going... I think it bodes well for NY.

 

Pats by 14. Giants are good but not good enough to mess up a perfect season.

I think it will be high scoring - both teams in the 30's - similar to their Week 17 game. I hope the Giants win. I have no respect for the Patriots on or off the field.

 

I heard that Brady had a walking cast on yesterday - wonder how significant that development will be. He does have two weeks to get healthy, and he is not known as a mobile qb, but he does have to have that foundation to be effectvie throwing the ball. I do wonder if that had anything to do with his three interceptions last week.

 

The line is currently NE -13 1/2. I think that's outlandish, not only because of how close their previous game was, but the trends of each team as they approach this game, especially the Giants' defense. Sure, NE has an offensive machine, but any offense becomes less productive as defensive coaches 'figure them out' as the season progresses, and we've seen that happen; they were winning most of their games by 4 or 5 touchdowns early in the year, and they've had 3 or 4 close calls later.

If NY does win, what are we going to hear from Shula, Buontaconti, et al, of the '72 Dolphins? There will probably be a box or suite with some of those guys rooting for the Giants and ready to do their toast if NY prevails. NE can say they are the only team to win 18 straight in a season, but those '72 guys will continue to boast they are the only team to go all the way through a season undefeated. If NE does win, they will have a greater boast in that they had to win 19, and that in the era of free agency and salary caps. Miami will counter that they "cheated" by having a camera on a defensive coach of Buffalo in their first game :laugh: .

I don't know which is worse to put up with. The '72 Dolphins should be dying off in the coming years and decades, but it will be a half century before the '07 Pats little coterie starts to wane. But there's likely to be another before then and....

Can Patriots go for 19-0 perfect season by beat Giants in Super Bowl?

Difficult! I am sure that Patriots are now in pressure for Championship game and aim for perfect season.

NY Giants' defense really impress me. Defense line and linebackers are quick and good blitz against quarterback and rushers.

I expecting this Super Bowl would be little bit lower score. I would like to see big upset in this Super Bowl.

This Super Bowl would be thrilled to watch. The world will watching Patriots trying to become second team to make a perfect record of NFL, and possible all-time steak winning 19-0.

This is impossible! It will make Patriots more pressure! I am eager looking forward to watch it. I am fan for Giants, hope to see a big upset on Patriots.

And Tom Brady is crowned as "the greatest QB of all-time" by the Northeast media elites who don't know any better.

 

New England by 6 in a game in which both teams score at least three touchdowns.

 

AMEN! Anyone who thnks that Randy Moss deserves ANYTHING is totally out of my book. I watched him catch a pass one time with Minnesota and DELIBERATELY step on an opposing player's arm out of bounds. He didn't even glance back. The announcers were aghast at what they saw.

And Tom Brady's arrogance needs to be brought down a few notches.

Watch out - the Giants are hungry!
