Teens are funny critters, and the "Duck Dynasty" thread reminded me of "Super Duck!"

Super Duck is a toy ducky that I took to school one year for the high school kids to use as a hall pass. It has a blue cape and a red face mask (I still have it) and is capable of granting students 3-5 minutes of freedom, thus the name.

No matter anyone's age, people DO still love to play around, so it wasn't very long until the kids, I mean, soon to be adults made a game of hiding Super Duck at the end of class, always in a high place (I'm not a tall person!) so the next class would have to find him if they wanted a pass. They'd try to tell a friend in the next class where it was, because whoever found it first would get a piece of candy. On two separate occasions, Super Duck was ducknapped and missing for almost an entire day, but word spread fast and the duck was returned safely before school let out.

It was always amusing when Super Duck came back and a giggly teenager would say "It really DOES change color in hot water!" They just couldn't resist playing with the ducky.

Ah, the power of Super Duck!

It's funny how no matter what, there's always something light hearted in life. Little things that turn into something to make you smile, things that don't seem like much, but end up making memories. I was tired of writing out passes and wanted something different that they wouldn't be able to copy that day and nothing that could hurt anyone, so I grabbed the duck and that's what ended up happening that year.

What funny little things have you had happen in your life that have made you smile?

I have two dogs, one a happy, hyper-waggy blue heeler, another grumpy Aussie shepherd. The other day, I came into my living room, and they were lying down together on the big couch, Tucker starts wagging his tail, (he's the happy one), and it starts hitting Jimmy, (the grump) in the face, over and over. Jimmy has very dark, expressive eyes, and the pupils stand out from the whites in a way that you always know what he's looking at.
Anyways, so Tucker's hitting Jimmy in the face with his tail, Jimmy would close his eyes when the tail got close, then open them up, look to see me, just in time to have to close them again. It went on for a bout 15 seconds. I still can't think about it without cracking up.

I always smile watching the Swedish Chef, and other Muppet Show snippets on you tube, they still mean a lot to me, thinking about some of those episodes always makes me smile.

I love both your stories, Gina and Bro. Curtis!

One thing that I love and always makes me smile is going to my son's house and seeing my grand dog, Annie. She loves me. :) She gets so excited when I bring her a treat that she nearly spontaneously combusts. She's always doing something cute or funny. Makes me happy!

Ah, kids and animals. They bring so much joy!

The dog stories are great! Our pets have such a way of bringing joy into our lives.

I recently changed back to feeding mine a multi-colored kibble, and she regressed back to her very amusing but weird habit of picking out only the light colored pieces, running them to her crate to chomp like she's afraid we're going to take them, and leaving the dark colored ones scattered on the floor and some in the bowl, but she doesn't touch them until later in the day. When she does get to them, she just stands there eating them without a care. No protective instincts over the dark pieces.
If I can get her to keep eating while we're close, I want to videotape the little weirdo eating her breakfast!

    Funny. Saving the meaty bits.

If you really want to laugh, raise chickens. Endless entertainment.
