    Vikings - Broncos

Okay, it's a long shot, but who said Santa can't deliver MY Christmas present?

I am a diehard Broncos fan and when they click they are as good as any team. If they continue to click, the can very well be at the SB............ but I am a little concerned with all of our injuries......

Big problemo with the Broncos schedule for the last three games. Losing at home to the hapless bears, now they go on the road and play some REAL teams.

Wishful thinking, even with Jake healthy!

I was going to pick the Chiefs, but after their pathetic showing in the Metrodome Sunday, I don't know. I would LOVE to see a Pack-Chiefs SBowl (ala Super Bowl I).

I have to say the Pats look unstoppable, winning 12 in a row, including teams like Tennessee, Dallas, Miami x2, Indianapolis, and Philly. Three of the last four games in N.E. were shutouts. The defense is smokin', Tom Brady has 5 guys who can catch touchdown passes, and they look totally prepared every time they step on the field.

As far as the N.F.C, I would say that Green Bay is on a pretty good roll, but I still say Philly will be the N.F.C. representative in the big one.

It's been a great football season. Hope the playoffs live up......

I'm sure Kansas State had heard that about Oklahoma, too. [IMG]

    HMMMM.....

Wrong about Philly, right on about New England.

N.E. Pats, 14 in a row. But those Panthers do make me worry.

Panthers went into Philly and humiliated them. They have earned my respect.

I'll be pulling for the Panthers but it will be tough to beat that N.E. team!

It'll most likely be a low-scoring affair; Carolina's D is really playing tough right now, while NE's D isn't exactly porous. However, I believe NE has a better offense than does Carolina, and that could well be the difference. Philly showed they could move the ball with short passes in the flats, but they did this too little & too late. I believe NE will do this early & often until/unless C can stop it, while C will have a hard time running on NE, which will lead to more passing and possibly more interceptions.

Sure, NE is hot as a $2 pistol, what with their 14-game win streak, but can anyone cay that C hasn't been playing the best D game in football the last few games?

Then, there are the dreaded INTANGIBLES...

I predict NE by a TD or less.

I agree with DR.BOB on the upset of the Eagles. Now, even though New England is favored, the Super Bowl will be a very defensive game. I want the Pats to win. It should be a great game. [IMG]

    My prediction:

    Patriots 23, Carolina 13

But since I've got no money on the game, I'll still be pulling for the Panthers.

I've watched (on TV of course)all of the Super Bowl's, and will this year. Last year, I found I really didn't care who won. This year the same. I suppose it would be nice for the Panthers to win, since they've not won one. I wanted to see a repeat of SB I. :(

I heard an interesting stat on the radio this morning. Evidently when there are two weeks between games the game is prone to be a blow out, but close when there is only one week between games.

I think that this one has the potential to be good if Delhomme can keep playing as he has been playing. He will have more pressure on him with that NE run defense. Their Linebackers are incredible. The NE DBs also seem to make alot of big plays - thanks to that front 7.

I will take NE by 17. Praise the lord for TIVO - I can attend our service and not miss a commercial - I mean play!

[IMG] I agree! My wife got me a TiVo for Christmas and I love it. It is great to be able to get home in the middle of a game and start watching from the first of the game while it is still playing. It is also nice to be able to create your own instant replays and "pause" live TV. I also have it set to automatically record anything with the key words "Oklahoma Sooners". :D

Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack this thread. I concentrate on college football and don't watch many NFL games. Since I don't have a favorite team playing, I will predict the Patriots will win by at least two touchdowns, but I will be pulling for the underdog Panthers.
