Supreme Court upholds Arizona's photo ID law for elections

When will we all get a chip implanted or barcode? How about mandatory finger printing or eye scans?

 

I don't understand the big deal. Personally I have had to show a picture id every single time I have voted. It should be common sense that everyone who votes should show some form of trustworthy picture identification. Be that a drivers license or a state identification card.

For the life of me I don't understand why anyone opposes that common sense security measure. For crying out loud you have to show an idea to rent a dvd, check out books from a library, or to use some discount cards. It only makes sense that you should have to prove you are who you say you are before you vote! Mainly in this age of voter fraud (dead people voting, etc).

I am forced to think that those who oppose this security measure oppose it because they want voter fraud and confusion.

 

Good. If I have to show my ID to use my credit card to buy a steak, which I'm all for by the way, I should have to show it to vote. I ask honestly, with no tongue in cheek whatsoever, what's the downside or the big deal?

 

The down side, and I'm not saying I agree with it, is some people can't afford a photo id but would still like to vote. Personally, I think we should lower the cost of state id cards for this reason.

 

How much is it now? I haven't renewed my license since 2003, but I don't remember it being that much. I'm sure that's relative, but still, if it's important to you, you make the sacrifice and buy the ID. Or maybe there can be photo voter ID cards for $5?

I had to be fingerprinted and submit to an FBU background check to be a teacher. I am all for it. Do you oppose this also? I say, good for the Supreme Court for making a good decision for once. Let's do this nationwide now and stop the illegal immigrants from voting, taking away the incentive for politicians to pander to them for votes.

Driving a car is a privilege, using a credit card is a privilege - voting is a right and an obligation.

How much evidence is there that bunches of illegal aliens are voting, anyway? Is this just the scare du jour non-issue to distract from real issues?

 

Maybe this is a solution to keep this from becoming a real-bad issue?

 

There is an organization out west that is registering illegal imigrants to vote this year. I saw a report on it the other day and saw interviews with their leaders that said so outright. I don't have to make up stuff when the truth is out there. You are right. Voting is a right for citizens of the United States. Illegals should go home and come back legally.

Depends on how it would be used. Ssince you passed the check it obviously is not that tough. Now we have you spitting out these view to 30 of our young gullible citizens. We have got to do better... :BangHead: :BangHead:

 

But that says I can only exercise my right if I have an ID. That is not what the constitution says, it says if I am a citizen I have a right to vote.

 

What view am I spitting out to my 30 young gullible citizens in my band class? Is it just because it isn't your anti-American communist view that something needs to change? I passed because I have never been arrested or done anything immoral to a child. Are you for or against me being fingerprinted?

No problem. If you are a citizen, then vote. But, prove you are a citizen so that the illegals don't get to vote. They don't, and shouldn't have the right to vote.

I wished I had the answer, I admit I don't. I guess photo id is a try but I don't want us to stop at the first idea.

 

Now we are getting somewhere. If you come up with something better that will actually work, get back to us. Otherwise, you are just a whiner with no solutions who is part of the problem.
