Just where is the ACLU and their separation of church and state when we need them?
If reciting prayers and reciting Quran passages isn't religious instruction, let's get our Bibles into school and recite Matthew 6:9-13, then move on to Luke 11. Just a little critique of elements of Christian culture, right?

The ninth court of appeals are chock-full of treasonous vipers. What a horrific waste of carbon, silicon, calcium, and trace elements. These "judges" have such acute cranial rectitis they can visually inspect their own gallbladders. I doubt any of them could find their own gluteal crease, even with a compass, flashlight, road map, and instructions in crayon. They prove that it does not take a village to raise an idiot.

It's bad enough that they can't figure out the "establishment clause" in staying out of church affairs. But they feel the need to "establish" a muslim presence in government schools.

    Thanks!

It is a shame that there are so many "treasonous vipers" parading as Americans.

If we do it right, maybe this is the steps to get prayer back in the classroom. We now have cases in our favor.

I do think you could make a good case for a new test case...

    Three things could happen:

    1) the Bible readings and prayers would be allowed--not a big negative there.

    2) the Bible readings and prayers would be banned as usual--possibly allowing for an overturning of this precedent

    3) Nothing will change--Bible reading will be banned again and the Koran reading will stay

The students weren't asked to accept any of it as true, just to understand what it meant.

It was a good ruling, imo. I don't see what the fuss is about.

Are the students' so weak-minded that learning about another religion/culture is going to undermine their faith in Christianity?

If this were a class about christianity, if the actual Word of God were being used, if they were asked to simulate christian prayer it would most certainly be a problem. And the ACLU would be in the middle of it.

However, I am excited at this ruling. I think it sets precidence that will open the door for prayer and the bible. No one has ever been forced to accept christianity as truth and yet anything involving Christ is taboo.

Where is the beloved seperation of church and state in this action?

Prove it. Prove that studying about religion using the actual liturgy would be a problem for the ACLU - you could cite similar cases, for instance.

Were those prayers for educational or religious purposes? Will students be allowed to critique them?

The separation is in the purpose. The children were learning about Islam.

Nope. I have learned my lesson with you. It doesnt matter what proof I come up with you just want to spin anyway. If you arent aware of what I am saying you have your head in the sand.

Yes. Lets let our children learn about a hateful and evil religion that will send our children straight to hell if they take it up. Gosh I'm with you on this daisy why in the world would a christian object to that.

If you think that simply putting out information about Islam is harmless then you are completely mistaken. And the bigest problem with all this is that students were not allowed to opt out. Nor were parents notified.

Is that not the premise of separation? That no religion should be put forth by any government entity? That in Plano a child's Winter Celebration gift of candy canes to other children was banned by the school because the school would be construed as supporting Christianity? That an auditorium could not hear a valedictorian's personal Christian experience as part of her speech because that would have the appearance of the school supporting Christianity?

How is this instance different from the others -- assuming that Islam is a religion and that the Quran is a holy book to its believers.

Of course it can. They are children. I'm not sure if the phrase weak minded is a pejorative or not. But it is foolish to teach this evil idolatrous religion that will send you straight to hell to anyone.

I agree, but I would state it more like: "it is EVIL to even think about supporting the teaching of any of satan's evil gods.

LeBuick friend, you and RevMitchell get my hopes up and yes we do have some recent rulings to compliment such.

I truly hope it might open a door again. To once again allow children to hear the Lords word. After all they spend much of the time listening to atheistic and/or secularistic teachings.

To have the Ten Commandments and prayer allowed again. As it was for most of America's history. Who doubts such would not help us or our children?:praying:

    Take care, Ralph

No one should be allowed to teach their religion to other people's children in a captive audience of public schools.

    Fire the teacher.

    Fire the administration.

    Fire the school board.

Fire everyone involved in letting satan's religion to be FORCED upon children.

Fire the fake courts for letting the children to not be protected from satan.
