Yes. The harshest judgment God can bring on anyone is to leave him alone and let him reap the natural consequences of his sin.
I pray that he won't leave us alone.
I pray you're right, as well.
However, from the standpoint of this nation, as a whole, don't think God will "leave us alone". And, with the way everything is shaping up, that includes this whole world. Pause for a moment, and look outside our boundries, whether industrial nations or 3rd world countries. It seems that most, if not all, are on the same path that we are taking. Some ahead of us and some behind us. All headed in the same direction.
If we haven't already reached the point of no return, keep wondering if June and the SCOTUS ruling will be that point for this country. Will history simple repeat itself, as it did with the Hebrews? Or, will God say He's had enough? Will He find the "10" that will stay His hand? Is there any
nation that hasn't heard the Gospel?
Back to an individual basis, we still have hope and assurance.
Psalms 23: KJB
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
