Taking the ASVAB

I always smile when I read of provincials blocking technological innovations. Imagine if we could not use microscopes or telescopes, or the printing press providing information to the masses?

I learned and become proficient in the use of the technology of the 1950's and 60's, to operate electrical generation power plants, but as I neared retirement, the new and vastly superior digital technology started to replace the systems I had mastered.

We will see more lawsuits and union strikes, and other efforts to stop or delay the march of technological displacement, but with history as our guide, they are shoveling sand against the tide. Sure some things are fads or bubbles, but look at all the outdated jobs of 100 years ago. See any elevator operators the last time you pushed the floor designation?
