In the 1992 election cycle Enron (including PACs, soft money and individuals) invested $336,509 in politicians, 41% ($136,475) to Democrats and 59% ($204,034) to Republicans. In the 1996 election cycle, the amount rose to $1,227,316 with only 21% ($252,100) to the Democrats and a whooping 79% ($986,216) to the Republicans. (Apparently, the Democrats were not seen as a promising an investment as the Republicans). In the 2000 cycle, of $2,537,823 the Dems got a little more, 29% ($741,669) and the Republicans a little less 71% ($1,794,154) of the total. (Source: Center for Responsive Politics (linkie)
