Ted Haggard exonerates John Kerry

What Kerry said may indeed have been a "botched joke", but the problem continued to grow when he refused to apologize to those military members serving in Iraq, who were insulted by the "botched joke". That made it appear as if he had not botched a joke, but truly believed that our military members are stupid. (BTW, I happen to believe Kerry DOES believe that, but am willing to admit I do NOT know either way).

I am glad that Kerry finally tried to apologize. However, even his apology made it look like the military members (as well as many other Americans) were fools, since they could not understand his joke! I am REALLY glad that Kerry has finally quit speaking, since he obviously has both feet in his mouth. (You know the joke: Open mouth, rearrange foot!).

I would also say the same for any other person (Democrat OR Republican) who says foolish things, jokingly or otherwise. My dear friends, we all need to learn to say "I am sorry", as this phrase would mend many broken relationships.

Being an abject hypocrite is... apparently that's what Haggard is. A wolf in sheeps clothing who has turned God's house into a means to personal wealth and power.

With that in mind, it isn't surprising at all that he would be so "forgiving" of Kerry. Kerry is likewise a hypocrite whose genuine feelings about the military periodically seep up to the surface.

If a guy does something like this once... then you can believe it was a "botched joke". When he consistently makes statements that question the integrity, honor, intelligence, etc of military people then you have to question the validity of that political cover.

 

Why is it OK for a politician to deride a President non-stop?

Does he mean that by a joke that it is not serious criticism but simply jocular fun for all to enjoy?

Because he's a simple little boy, thrust upon a big stage where he tries desperately to be someone, anyone, other than Theresa Heinz second husband, that has accomplished exactly nothing.

 

I didn't know people being "stuck in Iraq" was something to joke about, considering we had over 100 deaths of our service men and women in October. So, whomever the "bad joke" was directed to, Iraq is no topic for jokes of any kind. The subject matter for jokes of any kind should be off limits - kind of like jokes about Nuremburg. People who make other people the butt of jokes only make themselves look small.

 

Botched joke my __________. His explanation was damage control, pure and simple. I just wonder who was in the room with him when they decided on the cleaned up version.

 

Something is not right. Aslanspal sees Rush Limbaugh caught with viagara, after visiting the Dominican republic, and he's a sex-addicted pig. Ann Coulter wears short dresses and she's a reprobate.

But nary a word of condemnation of Haggard. He's a good guy.

Ted Haggard, one who used his pulpit for gain, now must deal with the fowl that come home to roost. And good for him.

John Kerry, well, he has to go on being John Kerry, and that's a cross to bear, to be sure.

 

Has Haggard confessed? Last I heard, he was still denying it. I don't have a lot of respect for him, for some other issues, but we can wait to see what happened.

He's allowed, even encouraged, to defend them even as you are allowed to criticise them - it's called a debate.

I happen to share AP's view of Rush being somewhat sexually bent. But I agree with his political positions probably 90% of the time. He is an entertainer and a master at that. No one can compare with his mastery of maximizing his income. And he serves as a HUGE voice for the GOP, though unofficially.

Ann Coulter is a prolific writer, making tons of money on her writings and appearances. She is an excellent debater and unafraid and armed to debate the liberals. Most won't have it out with her any more.

So the liberals are simply reduced to name calling, finger pointing, and denigrating these two people. They cannot compete in debate or in the realm of public opinion so that's all they can do.
