10: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

We will all stand before God and receive our just reward whether it be good or bad. We will either hear him say "come ye blessed of my Father"
Or we will hear him say "Depart ye workers of iniquity (sin), I never knew you.
by Brother Bob

It appears to me you better do a bit more study Bob. There are two main judgements that we preach about and that will concern Christians. 1. The Judgement Seat of Christ (For the Redeemed) 2. The White Throne Judgement (For the Lost)
A CHRISTIAN will never hear "depart ye workers of iniquity sin), I never knew you. The correct statement is And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt.7:23

I take it you not only believe you must work your way into Heaven but you don't believe in the security of the believer as well. Man, and you call yourself a BAPTIST?

My friend,if you don't think you are being judged every day of your life whether you are severing God or not then it is you sir that needs to study.

Repentance, it has been pointed out, is a change of mind toward God.

The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 66:18 'If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.'

If one continues to hold on to sin and is not repulsed by that sin, is not sorry for that sin, does not see that sin as being evil, the Word of God says that 'the Lord will not hear' that one's prayers.

One who regards iniquity in one's heart has not truly repented. He has not had a change of mind toward God. For God said in His Word you must turn from your wickedness unto righteousness.

Things Hard To Be Understood said:
2Pe. 2:20-22

“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” – 2Pe 2:20-22

This passage has been used to support the idea that a born again child of God can lose his salvation, but a careful reading of the verses refutes such an idea.

The entire chapter deals with unregenerate false teachers who deny the Lord (2Pe 2:1). The Holy Spirit leaves no doubt that these men are unsaved. They are the unjust who are reserved unto the day of judgment to be punished (2Pe 2:9). They are as natural brute beasts, made to be destroyed (2Pe 2:12). They will utterly perish in their own corruption (2Pe 2:12). They are wells without water to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever (2Pe 2:17).

Though these unregenerate false teachers knew the way of righteousness and had a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, they were never born again. The two illustrations given in verse 22 leave no doubt about this. The dog returns to his own vomit because he is a dog, and the sow, to her mire because she is a pig. They do these things by nature. The false teachers return to their evil because they are unregenerate sinners by nature and they have never been changed, regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit. The born again child of God, on the other hand, is no longer of the same nature as he was before he was saved. He has experienced the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit (Tit 3:5-6). This is why he does not return to his vomit and his mire. He is renewed from within. 1Jo 5:3 says every man that has salvation hope in him “purifieth himself.” Joh 10:27 says Christ’s sheep hear His voice and follow Him. Heb 6:9 says there are things which accompany genuine salvation. Those who do not obey Christ demonstrate that they have never been born again.

To interpret 2Pe 2:20 as speaking of a born again person is to ignore the entire context. Verse 20 is not saying these people were ever saved. It is saying only that they came into contact with the truth and they escaped the pollutions of the world only in the sense of having had the opportunity to know the truth. False teachers often begin their careers as orthodox Christians under the hearing of at least some semblance of sound doctrine. I have read the biographies of many Modernists who grew up in Sunday School and heard the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ repeatedly. They were taught as children that the Bible is the eternal Word of God. At some point along the way, though, they reject the truth they have been taught. Frequently this occurs during college and seminary training, when they sit at the feet of unbelieving and unregenerate false teachers. They never received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior from sin, and the evidence of this is the fact that they turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

This passage is a solemn warning to every person who is under the sound of Bible preaching. It is possible to hear many things and do many things without truly being born again. If a person plays games with the Truth and fails to be born again through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, he will be judged more severely than a person who never heard the Gospel and never saw a Bible.

I don't deny I need to study and I do every day. Am I going to stand before the Lord and give an account of my life.........I sure am, Rom.14:12, IICor.5:10. However I don't fear losing my Salvation. I can see the SDA's getting doctrine twisted but a Baptist. We have second grade kids that know Baptist doctrine better then this.

If you are going to accuse me at least get it right.

When you think about it. Those who will find themselves eternally damned to hell will only have one sin forever on their minds. The one sin that if repented of would have changed their fate. The sin of unbelief that Jesus Christ is Lord.

God Bless!

You fellows that believe that the Blood of the Blessed Lord Jesus can't keep you saved need a dose of the real thing. I talked to a fellow one time and he asked me if a person that doesn't believe in the security of the believer could be saved. I told him that they are just ignorant of Scriptural teaching. However you fellows are not only denying the security of the believer but are teaching the false doctrine. YOU ARE NOT ONLY IGNORANT OF THE BIBLE BUT I DON'T BELIEVE YOU CAN BE SAVED. You are depending 100% on WORKS! That's dangerous!

I am not teaching no such thing and if you say I am then you lack understanding.
I do not believe a person in the act of adultery goes to Heaven. Do you?

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Repentance to Salvation... not repentance from salvation.

Wow, if Moody said it, it has to be right......right?
Actually Bob Ryan uses Moody's work deceitfully.
Every time Moody refers to the Sabbath he refers to Sunday. Their belief during that age was that Sunday was the Sabbath. Moody always kept the Sunday-Sabbath. But Bob takes his words to mean something else. Notice in his writings Moody never refers to Saturday.

It still does not say "repentance from sins" ! "godly sorrow" is seeing your sins and being sorry for them which leads to repentance (turning to God) from unbelief to belief which is salvation. Now repenting of many sins at the same time may be normal but it in no way causes the salvation but rather is always a result of regeneration. However, this does not cause a perfect sinless creature that may never slip up and find himself in adultery or any other sin. One who finds himself in adultery after receiving the knowledge of the truth shall reap sorrow in some way (chastisement), but it does not declare him unsaved.

God Bless!

You believe in a WEAK GOD and a STRONG DEVIL!!!

I believe in a God that will be the only King left and the steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord. I believe in a real Church. Just think what you believe that the Christians are no different than the world but if they commit adultery it is not charged against them. If only all those drunk and adulterers knew they would all come and be saved so they would not have to go to a devils hell while they are doing all those wordly things called sin. I am saddened to hear such doctrine.

A God that is not able to keep you blameless.

1Th 5:23 ¶ And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved

blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Cr 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Pe 3:14 ¶ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without

spot, and blameless.

Actually, Moody did not keep a Sunday Sabbath. Moody observed Saturday, the seventh day as the day of rest. He said this in one of his sermons. He preached on Sundays.

Let me see here....

Did not set up false God's yesterday...
Did not make any graven images...
Did not take God's name in vain...
Do not work on the Sabbath day...
Did not lie...
Did not steal...
Did ot kill...
Did not covet anything of my neighbor's...

Did not, did not, did not.

Why do you falsely accuse me?

Some embrace a man-made tradition that non-stope rebellion against God is the "slavery to sin that the saints are doomed to live" until the 2nd coming.

By contrast - Romans 6 declares the saints to be FREED from such slavery to "non-stop rebellion" -- in fact SIN is defined as law breaking and SIN is master over you IF you are constantly falling before it - serving and obeying sin.

"FOR BY WHAT you are overcome - by that you are enslaved"

15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!
16Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?
17But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin[/b], you
became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,

18and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Sin is sin. All sin in God's eyes is equal.
If your premise is true, (and I don't believe it is), then those with an evil thought, or telling a "white lie," or getting angry, deceiving someone purposely, being unjust, treating someone unfairly, etc. Any of those sins will keep you from heaven, for all sin is equal in God's sight. Sin is sin. Telling a lie is just as great a sin as adultery. Your theology is akin to that of a Catholic.

DHK knows this -- he is simply gaming the topic.

True observance of the Sabbath may be considered under two general heads:
  1. cessation from ordinary secular work, and
  2. religious exercises.

1. CESSATION FROM SECULAR WORK

A man ought to turn aside from his ordinary employment one day in seven. There are many whose occupation will not permit them to observe Sunday, but they should observe some other day as a Sabbath. Saturday is my day of rest, because I generally preach on Sunday, and I look forward to it as a boy does to a holiday. God knows what we need.
