TomVols is ecstatic, I'm sure. It was a great game. The Vols will be No.1 on Monday. This despite the fact that their All-American Christ Lofton was not much of a factor.

Chris Lofton was a factor in that he sealed the win at the FT line. But how much does that say about Tennessee? Your Wooden candidate has (what, six points), Memphis couldn't miss from beyond the arc in the 1st half, and you still win? JP Prince and Tyler Smith led the way.

For the 1st time in UT history, their men's team will be #1. I just wish the Lady Vols hadn't coughed up a hair ball against LSU. We'd have dominance in the basketball world come Monday night.

I am thrilled. Yet I also know Vandy waits at Memorial Gym Tuesday night. It's a long time. Get back to me April 7 - that's when it counts to be #1. :)

But I can't help but enjoy the moment!

Yep, those two free throws with 4.5 seconds left did lock it up for the Vols. Seems like Memphis had two players assigned to Lofton all night. But when the game was on the line, he was there.
