Shots Fired, Reported 'Explosion' Outside UK Parliament

Cops Shoot ‘Knifeman’ Outside UK Parliament, Multiple Injured After ‘Car Attack’ on Westminster Bridge

Two have died, including a police officer, after a knifeman mowed down pedestrians and attacked police outside Britain’s Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.

Shots were heard late afternoon on Wednesday, with authorities confirming within minutes that the Parliament was on lock down and Members of Parliament were kept in the Commons chamber.

Less than an hour after the attack London’s Metropolitan Police declared they were treating the attack as a “terrorist incident”.

Makes me wonder if there is any connection between this and the threats against EU by Erdogan.

The "asian" perp was a forty-year-old named Abu Izzadeen. An older article about him:

British hate preacher Trevor Brooks jailed banned from leaving UK is held in Hungary | Daily Mail Online

from that:

Izzadeen was born to a Christian Jamaican family in London and worked as an electrician. He gained notoriety in 2006 after heckling Britain's then-home secretary John Reid live on television.

He also refused to condemn the 7/7 bombings in London and described then-prime minister Tony Blair and US President George W. Bush as the 'real terrorists' for invading Iraq and Afghanistan.

wonder what his motive was???

If you know that you know more than we know in Britain. All I've been able to find out is that the perpetrator's name is known to the police. I would be pretty sure that it's someone supporting Daesh. The sooner they're defeated in Iraq and Syria, and the 'caliphate' brought to an end, the better for all of us.

Well, now they're saying it can't be that guy, he's still in jail:

Dominic Casciani on Twitter

some lookalike they claim - just part of living in a big city if that city is London. What's the name and why are they holding it back?

As I understand it, Scotland Yard hasn't nailed down the perp's identity. Something about multiple men of that name. I would also think withholding the name cuts into the publicity value.
What's the name and why are they holding it back?

London terror attack: Eight arrests made during raids in Birmingham and the capital

Eight people have been arrested in Birmingham and London and "elsewhere in the country" in connection to the terrorist attack in Westminster in which four people were killed yesterday (22 March).

Police were previously reported to have carried out a raid at a property in Hagley Road in the Edgbaston area of Birmingham and detained a number of people.

Met Police have now confirmed they have made eight arrests at six properties in Birmingham, London and other areas on the UK in connection with the attack. Officers still believe at this stage the attacker acted alone and was influenced by "international terrorism".

He was certainly raised one: brought up by Christian parents in East Sussex and Kent. Turned to violence long before he turned to Wahhabism.

Which matters not at all.

What we have is another muslim terrorist any way you slice it.

You're missing the elephant in the room then: Islam had naff all to do with his violence

[ETA And the Met, who are possessed of more of the facts than any of us can, disagree with the supposed ISIS connection: they state he acted alone, much as ISIS would love to claim him as one of their own]

Let me get this straight - guy is born in Kent, raised by Christians, commits a violent crime, goes to prison for a little while, probably gets converted to Islam there, gets released, commits more crime, an on and on then does a terrorist attack where he dies at the scene but this has "naff" to do with Islam???

7/7 didn't either.

I'm saying his violent personality preceded (as 777 admits) his conversion to Islam...which would tend to suggest that the violence in his character had nothing to do with whether or not he was a Muslim ie: it wasn't like he was a peaceful, hippy-dippy tree-hugger who then converted to Wahhabism and switched to being a 76mph car-driving bat poo crazy psycho.

It's normal when the perpetrator is a muslim.
It's normal when law enforcement is trying to determine if there are others involved and release of the information may be damaging to the investigation. Also, they may want the information to be correct.
