Probably a good time to evaluate all foreign aid to all countries, including Israel and the Palestinians, with our national debt climbing $500-600 billion per year.

I don't see where Israel has any choice. It can choose not to negotiate further with the Palestinian government unless Hamas renounces terrorism but the character of the Palestinian government will be what it will be.

Yes, Israel does have a choice and Olmert made it crystal clear.

Ken, so what do you think of Hamas? Is this all you have to say about the utopia you speak of with the Palestinians and Israel? Has reality kicked in yet?

Did you even read the Hamas's charter: The martyrs' oath????

Even Schumer had this to say:

I would not call it optimistic Ken. ;)

    You avoided these questions.

And I agree with Schumer. Israel won't negotiate any further with the Palestinian government unless Hamas renounces terrorism. There is no need for people to be upset and acting like Israel will negotiate with Hamas unless they do renounce terrorism.

    1) I keep seeing quotes about how Israel shouldn't talk with Hamas. Well, it shouldn't unless Hamas renounces terrorism. There is no need for politicians to be posturing about this.

    2) As I said, I don't like it and I wouldn't sign it.

Unless our politicians step in, the money we are giving to Palestine will keep on flowing no matter if Hamas is in charge or not. There is more to this than just "posturing." I commend Senator Schumer (what did I just say??? )

Anyway, "once a terrorist, always a terrorist." It will take a bin Laden or someone of his ilk, who is admired and idolized throughout the Islamic world, to create a peace with Israel, albeit, a false one and one that will end after 3-1/2 years.

Now's the time for Bibi on the Israeli side. I like him & always have & always will. [IMG]

Ken, Israel has no plans to negotiate with Hamas. And yes politicians should voice their negative opinions of Hamas. It appears that this has been a wakeup call for some.

I agree LadyEagle, bring in Netanyahu [IMG] [IMG]

Good. Then no one should worry about them doing so.

I do somewhat agree with LE here. Until Hamas disavows terrorism and their martyr's oath and disarms the terrorists and stops any form of terror with the stated goal of destroying Israel (a peaceful, democratic ally of America), not only should we not speak to the government nor recognize it, we should also not fund it. Time for our money to come back home to us. Hamas is simply going to use that money for terrorism anyway, not to improve the conditions of the Palestinians. Reciprocity is the order of the day. If Hamas wants our money, let them prove that they can bring real reform not only in social issues, but in diplomacy.

Those are good words from Rice, Ken. Unfortunately, that is all they are right now: Good Words. Will we see some action put with those words? Will she take our money back from them and put the actual demands where her mouth is? Right now, all we have are pretty sound bites that are practically meaningless.

So much for learning "Kum Ba Yah" in Hebrew and Arabic... Put the guitars away, send Yoko home, and lock up the doves, I don't think Hamas will "Give Peace a Chance."
