Will you be elaborating on why you believe him to be the "American Nightmare"?

Marrs at the very least is guilty of exaggerating his stories, and at the most is an outright liar. Years back when he claimed that the IRS was infiltrating our churches to take away our tax status, I asked him for documentation so I could share this information with pastors. He got mad and accused me of being an agent. His books are idiotic, He finds pictures of the president, Billy Graham and others supposedly flashing the sign of the devil when they speak. Texe is a nut job. Not only that it is his kind of inane "facts" that make the Church look like fools. In the nicest terms it can be said of Texe that he is a parnoid, lying, idiot.

I have to agree that he is nuts on this one. Here you are, asking him for support so you can share his warning with others, and he accuses you of working for the enemy.

At best the man needs serious spiritual counseling, at worst anyone who is on this board should remove themselves from his mailing list.

I tell people who have his books to throw them away. He's a conspiracy nut and unfortunately his erroneous info on the New Age (along with others) has made it so Christians don't know what the New Age is ,and therefore, don't see that it has mainstreamed into our culture.

I was surprised a few weeks ago when I went to his web site to see what he was up to these days and found that he is selling the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. Gimme a honkin' break...

Bro Tony: //He finds pictures of the president, Billy Graham
and others supposedly flashing the sign of the devil when they speak//

This is the "hook 'em horns" sign. It is used by the
University of Texas to denote their football team.
The presidents Bush both used the symbols. Recall
the current Bush was Governor of Texas, yes he
    made that sign.

The sign is similiar to other signs.
I think the sign in Star Trek means "Live Long and Moooo :) "
(remember 40 years ago 'Contented cows give more
    milk' by Bordon company)

When I was younger and knew everything I listened to
Texe Marrs. Now that I'm old and "crammin' for
Finals" - I don't even listen to him. (I consider him on
the intertainment order of Weekly World News.)

Texe had an article where he said that AT&T spinoff Lucent Technologies was run by the devil, that Lucent was a contraction of "Lucifer's Enterprises" and that the red circle logo was a ring of fire from hell.

Only that both are generally a basic geometric shape...a circle, as are thousands of other logos. Are you saying you buy into Texe's insanity?

I don't buy into any one man as all are fallen and all err. However, I do believe Mr. Marrs to be a brother in Christ and in so much that I believe that he is, I will listen to him and test his theories against scripture and whatever knowledge that God has blessed me with. As to his insanity, I don't hear much data from ya'll making a case for him being insane. I only hear a whole lot of scoffing and name calling with little to back up these claims.

The Lucent symbol is something tangible that is worthy of discussion. I believe it is an oroborus. It's not blatant and obvious, for when is the devil anything but subtile? I believe that "good" being one character away from "God" and "evil" being one character away from "Devil" matters. When organizations such as Lucifer Trust/Lucis Trust or Lucent take parts of Lucifer's name, I find that worthy of a raised eyebrow. When they take a symbol that looks very similar to an oroborus, which is a symbol that theosophists, freemasons, rosicrucians and cabbalists seem to really like...well kind of seems like there might be something to Mr. Marrs "insanity".

That's plain ridiculous. The english word "lucent" has nothing to do with the devil. It may have common roots in that words starting with luc deal with light, and lucifer means bearer of light. Luz in spanish is light. Etymologically, there may be some common roots, but lucent has nothing to do with the devil. What next? I Love Lucy has something to do with loving the devil?

She certainly didn't have anything to do with God. Strip off the giggles and all Lucy was, was a liar. She lied her way into trouble episode after episode and was a lesser facet of the slow boil of television which brought it to the less subtile horrific programming it contains today. The television was and is designed for the devil's purposes of keeping believers and unbelievers amused. As long as they're amused and entertained, then they receive the programming of the world and don't lift their heads up to take notice about what is really going on in the world.

I'm not saying the Lucent issue to be fact, as I can not prove it. However, there is enough smoke here that the claims of a brother should not be dismissed out of hand in favor of calling him "insane". He has a theory that is corroborated with circumstantial evidence. This doesn't make him insane.

It looks a great deal like the O in Discover Card's Discover logo. Which Texe proudly displays on his website indicating he sells merchandise by accepting the Discover Card. hmmmm.... It gets worse. You can't spell Discover without Disco and we all know that Disco dancing is directly from ole no shoulders himself because it causes us all to gyrate and want sex from everyone except our spouses. If both eyebrows aren't raised by the seriousness of this matter then I fear for us all! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will avoid Texe at all costs.

I'm not a big fan of Christians selling merchandise as I like the freely you have received, freely you should give concept. However, is this the point where we disfellowship with Christians, when they sell their wares? Don't ministers need money in order to maintain their ministery? Don't most pastors sell CDs of their sermons to cover the costs of the CDs and pay for other ministries? Do you know of a mainstream Contemporary Christian group that does not sell their CDs, tickets to their concerts or t-shirts? Billy Graham sells his stuff. Rick Warren doesn't give away his books. How about Philip Yancey, John Piper, Gary Chapman, Max Lucado, Tim Lahaye, Chuck Missler, Thomas Nelson Publishers, Zondervan, NAVPress, Tyndale House Publishers. If you are prepared to discount all of the ministers and ministeries that accept money for their efforts, then I will concede your point.

Many reasons have been given by other members since I made the OP yesterday. I can add many more, but his decidedly-abnormal behavior on the air shoulda toldya something. He has the "Mc Carthy Complex" in which he sees conspiracy in every org on earth. He's the American Nightmare because some folks actually BELIEVE his goofiness. Not to mention he's a KJVO.

    Man is he a nut!!!
I had never heard of him until I read this thread.
    Thanks Robycop

Here is a statement from his website,
"I'm referring, of course, to George W. Bush, current occupant of the nation's #1 political job, the presidency. This may be quite a shock to some readers, but most folks in the Washington, D.C. beltway already know what I'm going to reveal here. Yes, they know that George W. is a bisexual and a procurer of male prostitutes."
