ThankULord Introduction

Greetings. I'm a newbie here and would like to introduce myself.

I was raised a Methodist and turned athiestic soon after my confirmation. When I was a freshman in college a "few" years ago, God brought some people into my life who were faithful witnesses for Jesus. At different times and in different situations they shared Jesus with me, both through their words and through their actions. God amazingly worked in my heart during my freshman year of college, and piece-by-piece God chipped away my athiestic reasoning and made it clear to me that someone I didn't believe existed was drawing me to Himself. I marvel at God's working in my heart. I was saved on May 9th, 1976 around 5:30 pm, I remember the moment as if it was yesterday.

Around two years after my conversion I was baptized and I've attended Baptist churches the majority of the time since my conversion.

As I think back over my life and God's faithfulness, love, and mercy towards me, my user name seems so appropriate - ThankULord!

AMEN Brother! I think you made an excellent pick for a user name. I say ThankULord every morning for everything He's done for me.

Greetings back to you Brother, and welcome to the BB, and thanks for sharing.

I remember replying and welcoming you, but I don't see it. Maybe it was in another Web site. Anyway, welcome to the Baptist Board.

One reason I'm a Baptist is because the only person who cared enough about my soul to ask "Are you saved?" was a Baptist. Of course, I had no idea what that meant and just chuckled. Nearly a year later on May 18, 1963 I did call on the Lord for forgiveness and salvation.

The other reason is because I believe the Baptists are the closest to the truth of any denomination, although I realize that I could be wrong. I certainly would never say as many do that my religion is the only correct one.
