I've been really impressed with a lot of the corporations. Many of them have done so without publicizing it. They've just quietly stepped up to the plate.

Walmart pledged $17 Million. Arkansas' Walmart sent in $2 Million from their regional stores.

General Electric Co. Promised $18 Million.

Exxon sent $7 million.

Chevron sent $5 million.

Kraft foods gave $1 million up front, and then contacted the Red Cross to coordinate a long-term arrangement to continue to provide food to the people.

Some of the phone companies are handing out free phone calling cards to the people.

Nisson is sending trucks to the various rescue organziations.

Various universities are taking in college students and faculty members.

Disney sent about $2 Million, dividing it up between various agencies working to help the people.

Anhouser Bush canned water and shipped crates of it down there.

Culigan sent water down there.

State Farm sent over $1 million to the relief aid.

General Mills sent crackers and cookies.

Papa John's Pizza in Houston donated 10,000 pizza's to the Astrodome.

Coca-Cola sent $5 million.

Freddie Mac Mortgage company sent $10 million.

Dallas Kimberly Clark sent $250,000 in cash and then donated $350,000 worth of diapers, baby wipes, and toilet tissue.

Minneapolis United Health Foundation sent $10 Million.

AstraZeneca, Merck, Wyeth, Eli Lilly and Johnson & Johnson (all pharmaceutical companie) together sent over $9 million in cash and supplies including antibiotics, insulin and toiletry kits to the affected areas. Eli Lilly & Co. loaded a private jet with antibiotics, tetanus shots and insulin and sent it to the Gulf Coast.

Along with that countries have stepped forward.

Saudia Arabia has offered to lower the price on the gas and oil they sell to the US.

Tony Blair of England said they are standing by to do whatever we ask them to do.

Sira Lanka sent $25,000, which doesn't sound like a lot, but they are still rebuilding from the Tsumani that hit them.

Various Humane Societies and vets are down there trying to rescue animals and trying to find some way to match pets up with owners.

States are doing everything they can, all over the US. Many of them are taking in college students. Others are taking in school children.

 

The president Venezuela of offered to send troops to help with the looting. Obviously we don't want that kind of help as the US military and Nation Guard is up to the task.


However he did also offer Oil and cash to help out in the current crisis.

Remember this is the man who Pat Robertson thinks we should "take out".

So much for those "greedy corporations" that are gonna let grandma freeze/starve to death just to keep the profits high!

If nothing else comes from this disaster, I hope the masses will look a little skewed at all the anti-business garbage the left loves to yell about.

 

It is good that the victims are recieving help.They are also recieving help from many churches and Christian organizations.Even Fox and MSNBC are jumping in and helping out.

 

I pray that those in the counceling field will offer help, lots of it. Those poor people are sure gonna need it.

Thanks for posting the list. It's nice to see the response to this crisis. We all know that individual Americans and non-profits like the Red Cross and Salvation Army are once again responding with assistance but it's nice to see other help from businesses. I'm not surprised at it, but it's nonetheless wonderful to see. Perhaps he has offered it privately, which would be wonderful, but one name I haven't heard mentioned as a contributor is Bill Gates.
