The Ark is Taking a While to Build

    (Frostburg, Maryland-AP) -- It's a common sight for
    travelers along Interstate 68 near Frostburg, Maryland -- a web
    of steel that should someday resemble a giant boat.
    But not even the builder knows when anyone will be able to
    climb aboard.
    The full-size representation of Noah's Ark is nearing it's
    20th year of construction.
    Three years have gone by since the last beams were laid in
    place.
    Pastor Richard Greene relies on donations to continue the
    work. That means there is no timetable to finish the ark. Greene
    says -- quote -- "as God provides, I build" -- unquote.
    Greene believes the completion of the ark will be a sign
    that Jesus will return soon.

    That would be something to have a look at, a full size replica of the Ark.

    I dont know about its completion being a sign that Christ is comming though. Dont exactly recall that one in the Bible :D

    This "project" has been going on for a loong time. I lived in Frostburg at the time it was conceived, and as a visitor to the area at times, I can tell you at the current stage, it is a blight upon the beautiful mountain landscape of western Maryland. This thing is right along I-68, and is quite honestly an eyesore. If they can't get it finished, I think it should be taken down. Twenty years and still nothing but steel beams.

    It took Noah 120 years so why not these nuts? Didn't God promise that He'd never destroy the earth in the same way again? Then why an ark?

    funny - i always thought it was made out of gopher wood - not steel beams. guess i have a faulty translation.

    I found the website for it, and it looks rather interesting. Does anyone have any idea of which denomination this particular church is?

    I did like the artists depiction of what it would look like though.
