The Battle of Armageddon and the Battle of Gog & Magog

Could someone please tell me what the difference(s) is/are between the Battle of Armageddon and the Battle of Gog & Magog? Specifc Bible references to support your answer(s) would be especially appreciated.

The Battle of Armageddon occurs BEFORE Satan is bound, and the camp of the saints is encompassed by Gog and Magog AFTER Satan is loosed [Rev 20:7-9].

That is the way I always understood it. However, one thing I have heard a difference of opinion on is during the 1000 year reign, when Satan is bound, where is he bound? Isn't his final destiny after the final battle of Magog when he is thrown into the Lake of Fire?

What the abyss signifies, I don't know. I believe he has been bound though, or the gospel would have never been so readily accepted amongst the Gentiles, nor their idols rejected, had he not been.

Yes, but again, I don't know what the lake of fire signifies.

9 And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Rev 20

It definitely is a place of torment though.

Concerning Gog and Magog, in Ezekiel ch 38-39, the key verse is:
So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more:
and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. - Ezek 39:7

This can only apply to (genetic) Israel. Chapter 37 describes their national return to faith in God. Chapter 38-39
describes the circumstances where God will once again intervene in human history, and demonstrate his power,
as in the days of the Old Testament, which will result in national revival. Many place this event at the beginning
of the Great Tribulation and the establishment of Mosaic Law in Israel and Temple Worship.

"Jacob" can be none other than (genetic) Israel.
