THE BLESSING
What is Blessing? Blessing is the combination of all goodness that possibly can be done for one who is blessed.
GOD start blessing people from the very beginning, but it truly revealed itself in the blessing of Abram and his descendants.
It is really amazing what the Lord said about descendants of Jacob and Sarah, and future the people of Israel:
Genesis 12.3
3.”I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and in you all the families of the Earth shall be blessed."
(Genesis 12.3, 22.18, 26.4, 27.29, 28.14) (Numbers 24.9) (Acts 2.39, 3.25) (Galatians 3.8)
Entire human population would find their blessing in the descendants of Abraham, only if they believe and have faith of Abraham and follow the Ordinances of the GOD of Abraham.
But not only people are blessed with the blessings of GOD, but also one very special Day called Sabbath. On the Sabbath Day people especially blessed, but only those who observe it.
Exodus 20.11.24
11."In six days the Lord made Heaven and Earth, the sea and all that is in them, but rested the Seventh Day, therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath Day and consecrated it."
What is needed to receive a blessing besides observing the Sabbath Day? The verse below answering this question.
Luke 11.28
28.But He said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the Word of GOD and obey it!”
Does the blessing equally given to all? Actually some people blessed more and some blessed less. It seems that all depends on how people behave and live their lives. For example:
1Corinthians 7.39-40
39."A wife is bound as long as her husband lives (Malachi 2.13-16). But if the husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, only in the Lord.
40.But in my judgment she is more blessed if she remains as she is. And I think that I too have a Spirit of GOD."
Is any other way people can blessed beside actions mentioned above? Yes. But this one is particularly tough and difficult one, because we have too many very strong temptations almost every day, particularly then it comes to intimate personal issues, business, and money, by which majority of the people included Christians miserably fail.
James 1.12.25
12."Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him."
But concerning Commandments and Rules of the Lord James made very clear that not those who come to hear the Word of the Lord are blessed, but those who do, observe, and fulfill the Word of the Lord in their lives, and nothing can be more closer to that truth.
25."But those who look into the perfect Law, the Law of Liberty (the Spiritual Commandments of the Law of Moses - the Gospel of Christ) and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act, they will be blessed in their doing." (Luke 6.46-49) (Romans 2.13) (James 1.22-25)
Can those people who died be blessed? Yes they can, because they are still live in spirit with their GOD. The Living and the Dead will be blessed according to their deeds (WORKS).
Revelation 14.13
13.And I heard a voice from Heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead, who from now on die in the Lord. ‘Yes’ Says the Spirit, they will rest from their labors, their deeds follow them."
Of course there is many other ways by which people can be blessed by their Lord, but here I outlined only general outlook of blessings. And not only people can be blessed but the Lord Himself can be blessed.
Yes, we can and have the right to bless the Lord our GOD for everything He has created, for His great mercy, compassion, instructions, teachings, tolerance, forgiveness, love, and most of all for His exceptional and great Sacrifice on the cross and His salvation of our souls. Yes, we shall bless the Lord our GOD always, at every chance and opportunity we have.
