I am very surprised that many Christians don't know this about President Bush, the "great christian leader". Bush: a member of Skull and Bones.

It is not a secret. I don't care about this. It is a non-issue for a secular leader of the secular democracy known as the United States of America.

It is a big issue with the Constitution Party and has been posted here in the politics section many, many times. It is just a bunch of college boy hocus pocus designed to intimidate the lower classes.

More conspiracy stuff distracting from the issues. The John Birch Society is alive and well.

FTR, how much of the CP is just a front for the JBS? They have some very unethical people in the CP. And they have had some very unethical people in the JBS as time has proven in the last 45 years. I attended 1 JBS meeting in El Paso about 45 years ago. They angered me by calling Ike a dupe and a tool of the communist conspiracy in one of their movies that they showed for orientation. I told them when I was only 18 years old that I liked Ike. In those days you were not a man until you were 21 so they had a boy telling them off.

It was tough to make the S&B thing an issue in the 04 campaign since Kerry was also a member.

    CMG,

I can only give you my opinion because I don't know how the memberships interlock, but IMO they're very tight, judging from the platform/issues they advance. I was a member of the JBS in 1978 for a year and had by then read a great deal of their conspiracy literature and books. One thing I am grateful to them for is deepening my own realization of the menace that Communist subversion represented. They may have "seen" too many Reds but they saw far more that were there than anyone else and the Venona files vindicated them. But the one-world government conspiracy stuff just doesn't fly, IMO. After I started doing other reading that wasn't on their approved list (and I've got to say they're about like JW's on sticking to their published stuff) the blinders fell off.

I had not even thought about unethical folks in the JBS but I've heard that once or twice before. I don't judge them on that account as corruption will grow in almost any soil, unless the whole organization is corrupt and I don't think that's the case.

Yeah, the Ike was a dupe and George Marshall was "a conscious, dedicated agent of the Communist conspiracy" (or something like that) is hogwash that the JBS is saddled with because they've still yet to disavow them as far as I know.

So George Bush Sr., George Bush Jr., and cousin John Kerry all belong to a super secret society that all of them flatly refuse to talk about that reportedly practices Satanic rituals...so what?

So George Bush Sr., and George Bush Jr., along with just about every other world leader are members of the Bohemian Club and there are reports of Satanic rituals going on there as well...so what?

It doesn't matter and we shouldn't let little things like that distract us from "the issues".

Nothing like "blowing off some steam" at a nice cremation of care ritual at the base of a 45 foot owl statue. It's just sooo relaxing for "Christian conservatives" after a hard year of running the world.

I"m surprised you're only hearing about this now. Skull & Bones is an excuse for elite rich exclusive college frat guys with too much time on their hands to party & get drunk. That, and fodder for conspiracy theorists.

I've known about S&B since my college days (alas, the words "elite rich" somehow did not apply to me [IMG] ). I care neither about Skull & Bones, nor the artbellites who theorize about it.

We could take a vow of secrecy to not talk about things to which we aren't privy. :D Then we could be a secret organization.

    Any suggestions for names?

If you plan on dressing up in black and red ceremonial robes and having rituals at the foot of an owl statue in some swamp or redwood forest, you can count me out. Thanks. :D

Somehow I just don't see taking a vow of secrecy as being Christian so, i'll have to take a pass. [IMG]

OK, I was just kidding. I thought I was being funny. I was offering a joke. I'm sorry it was such a flop. I'll bow out now.

While much of what the JBS says is "out there", you can't throw out the baby with the bath water. I approach the JBS like I do any other source of information, you take the meat an throw out the bones. The JBS is one of the only national groups joining the Minutemen, many of whom are also JBSers, in fighting the administration in their plans to open our borders, by fighting CAFTA, NAFTA and the FTAA.

While some of the "conspiracies" they talk about may be far fetched, there are others that have facts to back them up, you can disregard them all, just because some don't hold water.

I may be going to a JBS dinner in two weeks to hear the Honorable Dr. Ron Paul and Thomas E. Woods Jr., PhD speak.

As far as their connections to the Constitution Party, I would guess there are more JBSers who are in the GOP trying to reform the party than there are in the CP, the JBSers I haved talked to in my area are at least.

I thought this thread was about Skull and Bones so how come we have to dwell instead on JBS and the CP? That is a kind of distraction from the "issue" of the thread isn't it?

Artbellites, is that some sort of French word or is that a JBS password or is that what a drunk at Yale says?
