The Chase

I haven't been able to watch the races due to everything going on in moving from Illinois to Tennessee. It's simply amazing that Kyle Busch has been a complete non-factor. I'd really love to know what's going on with that team to go from virtually untouchable to awful.

I did get to see the very end of Dover with the excellent 3 way battle among Roush teammates. There's been some good racing during the Chase.

Kansas. I'm not sure what video game he was thinking of. In N2k3, the one that I play, the walls are too sticky to make something like that happen. When I get into that kind of situation in N2k3, I just go and wreck the leader. :laugh:

I agree with you on Regan Smith, but not because I think the yellow line interpretation was right or wrong. I believe that the yellow line rule should never have been implemented. AFAIC, if there's pavement and a driver wants to run on it, let them. If a driver thinks they're good enough to run on grass to make a pass at a restrictor plate track, let them. It's kindof the same way I believe in free market economics and how I'm against the government (Nascar) making bad rules that limit the free market.

AFAIC, that race is why Richard Petty ended his career with 199 wins, not 200.

Regan Smith made a great move to win the race and should have been rewarded accordingly.

 

I might be going back to far, but Lee Petty won a Daytona 500 the next day or some time after the race was over and Wendell Scott in Jacksonville won after the race was over and everything had been given out.

Out in Ca. on the road race Davie Allison was either given or had a race taken away from him in the 90's.

It is like so much in life, if you like it, it is great and if you don't it isn't, but NASCAR is making money over it. Also Smith paid to keep Tony locked up in jail to raise money for some charity. I like the kids attitude, if the two of them can get along well after that. I don't think I would be happy and I don't think he is either. They had he and Tony on the radio in NC and they seem to get a long well.

Lee Petty was declared the winner of the very first Daytona 500 2 or 3 days after the event was run. The photos of the finish took that long to develop and determine that he won.

Going into the white flag lap of the race at Sears Point in 1991, Ricky Rudd turned Davey Allison around. When it came time for Ricky to take the checkers, he was black-flagged and the win given to Davey.

 

Thanks, I need all the help I can get. I recall quite a few races over the years from lets say Myrtle Beach to Hickory where we might not have known the winner at the end of the race, or I think I recall such things.

 

How many of you like the Chase?

 

I think it was done to bring in more of an intrest, like the wildcard in the other sports. I for one have mixed feeling about both. I'm not a Kyle Bush fan but if it wasn't for the Chase he would be at the top or closer than he is now.

 

True, but didn't Petty hit Pearson and that is what cause it, Pearson didn't go below the line to pass Petty, shall we say he was knocked below and was able to restart his car and Petty couldn't start his. I hope I have the right race in mind.

After reading your link, I see it is the same race, I'm slow!
