The Compromise Solution to Divisive Politics in America

    I heard someone on a talk radio show asking what the compromise on this and that political issue would be. The answer is relatively simple: Minarchism - keep government out of just about everything.

    Especially the federal government; other than the military and foreign policy and issues that come up between States, the federal government should do pretty much nothing.

    The State governments should just handle relations with other States and issues that arise between counties, and pretty much nothing else.

    In minarchism, local governments would be where people care the most about what government is doing, and if government is going to be intervening to some extent in the economy, infrastructure, etc., then the local level is where it should be taking place.
