The continual saying of Mass cannot be broken?

In another thread, I brought up this question:

Is there a belief/practice/axiom of the RCC that requires that mass be said somewhere on earth at all times? And that it matters that it be said, not necessarily attended by a congregation, or the communion taken by anyone but the priest. A well-educated-in-the-faith Catholic once told me that, but I forget the why.

The answer had something to do with the danger of losing God's presence, or the blessing of it, or something like that. The concept even had a name.
It is the reason, or one of the reasons, that there are so many masses every day at RC churches - to keep the world "covered."

Does anyone know the specifics on this, and what it's called? Thanks.

No, there is no requirement. But, because the Catholic church is throughout the world, somewhere there is the Eucharist being shared as Jesus commanded at any given moment.

    Matthew 28:
    19. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
    20. teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

As Katherine said no requirement but a Mass is being said somewhere at all times because the Church is so large and it is in every country either legally or underground and in most countries the mass is offerred several times per day. No one however monitors that this is going on at all times, it just is as the result of the factors mentioned above.

The person you talked to probably was refering somehow to Malachi's prophecy in the OT relating to the New Covenant times where a "pure offering" would be made from the risng of the sun to the setting of the sun among all nations. This prophecy doesn't fit well with protestant theology for what pure offering could there be other than Jesus Christ and how could this offering be made from the rising of the sun to the setting of the sun among the gentile nations.

"Malachi 1:11 "From the rising of the sun to its setting my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense is offered to my name, and a pure offering, for my name is great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts."

"Obviouslythe sacrifice spoken of is not the Judaic sacrifice. The passage refers to a pure sacrifice that will take place everywhere among the nations (Gentiles). "

The Mass is the fulfilment of this prophecy
