James 2:19, "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

John 17:3, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

1John 5:9-10, "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: . . ."

Great to revisit the foundation of my belief.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation…”

I have noticed on many occasions, the use of the generic, "God Bless You!" is almost universally accepted. Further the phrase, "I want to thank God for His blessings." is also well received. But when you bring the Name Above All Names into the mix, When someone says something like, "I want to give all honor and glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!", people tend to get uncomfortable or even down-right belligerent.
They may well believe in a god, but do they believe in the "only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent"?

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1 John 4:1 ¶ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

1 John 4:14 ¶ And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

" If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before [it hated] you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me."
( John 15:18-21 ).
