    From Columbia News Service

Meghan Keneallly wrote an article about teachers using red pens. Basically, red intimates. Researches found that test subjects who were randomly given red pens to grade test were harsher overall then those given non-red pens.

    and your thoughts?

    "...softer, more soothing colors." ?
Trickle down silliness is all that is. Wrong is wrong, don't try to soften it up and make anyone feel better. They'll feel better when they learn the right answers. That's life.

    Or used to be.

I'll never forget the horror of my first college paper in literature being returned with so much red I wondered where my writing was.
Thankfully the professor didn't try to "soothe" me with nicer colors and such. He made me care and nothing felt better than the first red-free paper returned to me.

I believe he used blood! That stuff was RED! :tonofbricks:
