    THE ELECTION OF GRACE

Election and predestination are two thoroughly biblical terms that have little place in the religious discussions of our day. The god of modern religion serves man by seeking, wishing, wanting, trying and begging man to "get" saved. This god is powerless to do his will unless and until man allows him to do so. This god though loved and worshipped by millions of dedicated, moral, sincere people everywhere, is an abomination that cannot save and bears no resemblance to the Almighty, Sovereign God of scripture.

It is clear from scripture that in the everlasting covenant of grace certain people were chosen to be represented and redeemed by Christ while the rest were fitted by God for destruction.

Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Romans 9:21-23 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory.

This was done according to the sovereign will and purpose of God alone, apart from any conditions or merit in anyone at any time.

Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.

Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

There is no ambiguity on God's part in the salvation of his sheep, as they were chosen in eternity to be redeemed by Christ and have that redemption revealed to them in time by the Holy Spirit. Scripture is clear that Jacob, not Esau, Moses, not Pharaoh, Noah and his family, not the millions who perished in the deluge, Rahab the harlot, not the inhabitants of Jericho, the eleven disciples and not Judas were chosen by the sovereign will and purpose of God to be represented and redeemed by Christ in his obedience unto death and decreed to be the very righteousness of God in him.

Christ represented his elect specifically, particularly and personally in his accomplished death on the cross. He never potentially represented anyone if they would meet some further condition. If that were so, then sinful man is his own ultimate savior and that is an idolatrous abomination.

These things are too much for flesh and blood to understand, so the moral, religious man hates the things of God and erects a golden calf more to his own liking. However, when God reveals the glory of Christ to his sheep, they renounce their former idols and follow the Lamb, finding rest for their souls.

Christ declared, "It is finished" and it certainly is. There is not one thing lacking that is yet to be done, for he actually, completely and eternally saved his people from their sins. They are decreed now and forever to be the righteousness of God in him.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

It is perfectly clear from scripture that the above bogus claim is utterly false doctrine.

No individual was chosen for salvation before they existed "without mercy." No individual was chosen for salvation except through faith in the truth. No individual was chosen to be a people of God before they once were "not a people."

When are people chosen for salvation? After they put their whole-hearted trust and devotion on Christ Jesus.

How could they believe without hearing. How could they hear without a preacher. Therefore we were chosen individually during our physical lifetime. We were chosen after we were "rich in faith" and "loved God."
