The failure of Obama and the far left agenda

So the Dems forced a recount only to gain more votes for Trump. Then they tried to flip the electoral voters only to lose some of her own. They have repeatedly lost members of Congress and state governors. I think it is safe to say the obama presidency is a complete failure as is the far left agenda. That is all.

Pretty much. They held the presidency for eight years and lost ground everywhere else.

When is Jill Stein going to demand a recount of the Electoral College? <snicker>>

Obama and the Dems overplayed their hand for 8 years and never learned when they kept getting "schalacked" by the voters. I just hope the Republican don't repeat that mistake. It will be interesting to see how history tries to spin the Obama years as anything but a total failure.

Ridiculous. The Republicans' only objective during the Obama years was to block everything he proposed. They had no ideas of their own. That led to a stalemate and this Congress being rated as the WORST ever.

No, I'd argue that the two Obama terms were successes of the far left - Obamacare passed, political correctness was rampant, the rise of BLM, tough environmental policies and the success (especially in the first term) of alternative energy, a huge stimulus bill, the appointment of Sotomayor and Kagan to SCOTUS, among other things. The problem with the far left is that they couldn't realize Obama was elected for who he was rather than what he believed in.

Obama leaves a staggering mess for his successor
The United States is now a country that can be safely ignored by our allies and, more ominously, by our enemies.

One of President Obama’s most important legacies is a sense that the U.S. is no longer the dominant global power: It can be ignored. It’s a new reality that became apparent this year as various authoritarian regimes and populist movements have tested it out.

President Vladimir Putin’s Russia has been at the forefront of the effort. For example, last week the foreign and defense ministers of Russia, Iran and Turkey met in Moscow to discuss a plan for Syria. The U.S. was not invited. Instead, the ministers adopted a statement saying the three countries were willing to serve as the guarantors of a deal between the Syrian government and the opposition. All other countries with “influence on the situation on the ground” are welcome to join, the statement said.

This is the kind of call the U.S. has grown accustomed to making during the post-Cold War decades of Pax Americana. Now, three authoritarian regimes — one of them, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s, an increasingly nominal U.S. ally, and the other two open U.S. adversaries — feel empowered enough to assume their role in an area where perhaps the biggest threat to the West, the Islamic State, operates.
