The first neo-con war?

    Ironically, the War of 1812 (which was the first DECLARED war for the US [Not like Korea, Vietnam, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan, etc.] against a foreign nation.) was offically declared on June 4, 1812, AFTER the British withdrew their Orders in Council---which ostensibly was the primary reason for the declaration.

    Also, what some consider to be the most famous battle of the war, the Battle of New Orleans, took place AFTER the two warring nations agreed to the terms of the Treaty of Ghent (a city in Belgium).
