"The fountains of the deep" Where are they? Besides GENESIS does the word of GOD speak of "The fountains of the deep". Thanks Tali M.

Without digging around from some info, upon recollection I believe the Genesis account gives us the understanding that the fountains of the deep were large, even massive, underground deposits of water, likely under pressure. The Scripture says the founstains were broken up, and then stopped when the earth was deluged.

These fountains gave up their water to the earth, and at God's command receded. Much of this water is what makes up our oceans today I believe. I do not believe the earth had as much water on it before the flood.

In Proverbs 8:28 the fountains of the deep are mentioned in relation to when God created them, speaking of Him strengthening them. This gives me the impression that they were under pressure.
