I think this is going to change things. I don't think as many people are going to agree to the boosters as agreed to the first round of injections.
A lot of people's primary reason for being vaccinated was so that they could stop wearing a mask. They talked differently, but when they were required to remask, they used the words "cheated'.
I know quite a few people that got sicker than they expected. And the second vaccine was the one that made them sickest. Is a booster supposed to be even worse? And that is "good", because it means it is "working"?
So are they finally saying that ongoing boosters will be needed indefinitely? And that masks will be needed anyways, indefinitely?
I bet we are going to hear less talk about the greatest benefit is for others and not yourself?
So, when people get sick, all those people that were "fully vaccinated", but didn't get a booster, fall into the statistics that say only unvaccinated people get hospitalized?
What is interesting this time, is that people getting a booster right now are considered vaccinated if they get sick soon after receiving the vaccine? This is the first time that recently vaccinate people with breakthrough covid will not be counted as part of the "unvaccinated"?
But since tests are not always accurate, and doctors can count people that they suspect of having Covid, statistics are already such a mess, my curiosity about how this affects the numbers will not be satisfied.
It is safe to mix and match, they say. I guess we will find out. But will we be told the real results of that?
Is this all a desperate move to learn as much as we can, in case a worse variant crops up? Sometimes authority figures are not transparent about what they are doing, but honestly mean well. Parents do a lot of stupid talk about sex and Santa Claus and they mean well.
This is clearly going to get a lot more interesting, really fast.
