The Hunt Movie

Guaranteed to give gun activists talking points:

The script for The Hunt features the red-state characters wearing trucker hats and cowboy shirts, with one bragging about owning seven guns because it's his constitutional right. The blue-state characters — some equally adept with firearms — explain that they picked their targets because they expressed anti-choice positions or used the N-word on Twitter. "War is war," says one character after shoving a stiletto heel through the eye of a denim-clad hillbilly.

I watched the trailer a few days ago. The violence in just the trailer was enough for me to know this is going to be one sick film. A car spinning its wheels out on someone's head - a stiletto heal to the eyeball and a whole lot more. Murderous death is the star of the film.

I don't understand this at all, but being Jason Blum and seeing his film repertoire, it's to be expected.

It was original to be called Red State vs. Blue State or either Blue State vs. Red State [I can't remember the order].

I'm a gun owner - an activist, not necessarily, but I believe in the right for citizens to own them. And this is NOT what disgusts me about the film.

How can the left say that Trump incites violence when celebrities galore have called for violence in idiotic statements and films like this, "killing the deplorables" in human "hunt".

Do you approve of this film? All you have to say is that it will give gun activists some talking points?

How about this? This country is headed to hell in a handbasket. And ANY promotion of glorified violence is like pouring acid on already burning flesh.

Films like this are fanning the flames.

I'm offended not so much as a Republican and a Deplorable. I'm offended as a Christian, American, and human being.

Yes, this will bring all the talking heads out - on both sides. And it will NOT bring any relief to the American nation at all - ergo, what's the point of making the film? To increase the division and hatred and to make millions from sick humor and mockery of slaughtering those you hate.

I agree with all your sentiments and I know had the film plot been reversed you would have expected outrage from Democrats.

Democrats and gun control activists have a higher ground when it comes to such satire; mass shooters tend to be conservatives

This "entertainment" is normal: Hollywood moguls portray violent human bloodshed as part of a heroic way of life.

e.g. in the John Wick series starring Canadian born Keanu Reeves the number of deaths inflicted multiplies with each release.

So Hollywood enjoys feeding our bloodlust for gold and silver without apology but on the other hand they excoriate Trump for his Second Amendment position.

And then they turn on him and express the desire (for instance) to "blow up the white house".

How to Win Friends and Influence People"?

There can be no high ground with a movie like this, especially coming from the left who tell us they are all about tolerance and non-violence.

From first person violent video games to movies like this, the left seems to have no problems whatsoever with this type of shoot-em up garbage. There simply is no social redeeming value from this type of stuff at all and I guess in the end it all comes down to just making some cash.

That’s a big if. The point is that you don’t find that sort of reversal. The progressive left Dems are religious fanatics, first order fascists fueled by supercilious hatred. The Dems should show collective outrage toward this movie.

I agree with you. They should, especially in the face of El Paso

I know we have Antifa but I'm yet to hear of any left-wing extremism and resultant deaths yet we have enough examples of right wing mass murders with the latest one being El Paso.

If you ask me, the video is in bad taste and not condemning it amounts to affirming it.

Why do you classify the El Paso shooter as right wing?

Why don't you classify the Dayton shooter as left wing?

What about the guy that tried to shoot a bunch of Republican House members and shot Rep. Steve Scalise?

Cherry picked and given a communist anti-American spin.

Murder and extremism is born of the violence and filth disseminated out of Hollywood on both theater and home screens.

Many abominable movies are used as models of violent murder/kill games.

Also pornographic filth floods over the internet - a sub division of Hollywood - with Hollywood stars living vicariously lives of fornication and adultery as a normal life style with abortion and euthanasia to cover-up "mistakes".

They tend to be nut jobs that are way past far right or far left.
