The Inherent Racism Of Population Control

Toronto, May 18, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) We must first stress that the 58-page LifeSite.News.com document to which this story refers is a MUST READ for all persons concerned about life, family and even freedom. For some activists and leaders, there is little that is new in the document but, for the vast majority, the all-important big picture it reveals is a critical must learn project. Without this understanding, most will continue to fight against shawdows, ignore real culprits and perhaps be to harsh towards opponents who do not realize they are being used.

I always wondered how abortion came to be viewed the way it is in the United States. We can protest the doctors that perform them all we want and it will come to nothing. It isn't only the action thats offensive to me but also the ideology that drives the action. I never did quite understand till I read this document.

Anyone else have the same feeling?

A local Planned Parenthood worker used the phrase "stopping cows from breeding" in a veiled reference to Black women having babies. Racism is inherent in population control in the USA.

Sadly.

They are repoductively empowered - just use their empowerment before a child is conceived.

The topic of this thread is clear - lets stay on it.

It certainly does appear that pre-birth murder in racist.

Without proper information, access to birth control, or basic human rights, most women simply do not choose whether or not to conceive.

According to anecdotes from the far-right. Not very convincing, methinks.

It might be considered that those backing eugenics most strongly were those most opposed to abortion.

It was a crime, for example, to have an abortion in Nazi Germany, the epitome of a state endorsing eugenics.

This may be true in the case of rape, but I don’t think many women today are ignorant as to the cause of pregnancy. Women and the men always have a choice it is called abstinence.

Tell that to a poor woman in an abusive relationship.

Actually, yes. I think that when we protest the doctors, etc, we're barking up the wrong tree. We as a society need to empower the population (both religious and not) with the ability to avoid the circumstances that lead to pregnancy in the first place.

They can choose whether or not to have sex.

I think Johnv is on the right track when he says

We will never stop abortion by going after the doctors. We have to go after the real murderers, those who hire the doctors, the women. The only way to really change behavior is to change the heart. Many years ago we tried to outlaw liquor in this country, that did not work out so well because despite the law people wanted to drink. If we could outlaw abortion tomorrow it would not stop and go away. We need to change the hearts of people in our society. We need to stop the unwanted pregnancies from occurring to start with and we need to make women aware of the value that those lives within them have.
