This study goes over what the mark of the beast is in its two forms, the "name of the beast" and the "number of its name", and what it means to receive the mark on the forehead or the right hand. Also explains what 666 means. The study can be found in English here The Mark of the Beast, the Name of the Beast or the Number of its Name, and 666 | Wisdom of God or in Spanish here La Marca de la Bestia, el Nombre de la Bestia o el Número de su Nombre, y 666 | Sabiduria de Dios , let us begin a discussion on this matter here.

A great deal has been wasted on various kinds of numerology, including claims (the evidence for which always seems to be assumed but never presented) about 6 being a sinister number or someone's name or title having a numerological value. I think the explanation for 666 is very simple. Both the Hebrew and Greek alphabets used ALL their letters to represent numbers - units, tens, hundreds, even thousands - so that entire alphabet added together totalled a few thousand. But the Romans used only a few letters to represent numbers: I + V + X + L + C + D. Go ahead, add them together, it totals 666. (The M for thousand was, according to Montanus, not in use until the Middle Ages) It's like referring to a short fat man as "Mr. Five-by-five"; referring to someone as "Mr. 666" means he's Roman, not Greek nor Hebrew, because of his numbering system. So when the line in Revelations says "it is the number for a man" it means a type of a man, a nationality or an ethnicity rather than a name for one specific individual.
