The most disastrous errors of the post-apostolic church

evangelist-7

New Member

post-apostolic … after the original apostles died
SWMs … signs, wonders, miracles
BACs … born-again Christians

The MAJOR CAUSES of these disastrous errors

#1 CAUSE
“the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world” (Rev 12:9)
“the god of this world” (2 Cor 4:4)
“the ruler of this world” (John 12:31)
“the ruler of the demons” (Matt 12:24)
“the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19)
“there is no truth in him ... he is liar and the father of it” (John 8:44)

The biggest understatement in 2000 years: “Satan hates God and His church!”

#2 CAUSE
Many church leaders fell for the deceptive lies of Satan …
but they also had selfish reasons for going along with the great deceiver.
The big church organizations (especially) wanted to be in control of everything.
The leaders did NOT want …
-- God (His anointed apostles & prophets) to be in control of the churches
-- to acknowledge the continuing existence of SWMs
-- anyone in the church having more spiritual anointing than they had
-- to risk losing any church members and their tithes
-- to risk losing their power, authority, prestige, jobs, etc.
All of this caused God’s Church to become man’s church.

2 DISASTROUS ERRORS of the post-apostolic church

(1) – The Cessationism Doctrine: The spiritual power gifts have ceased

Jesus’ Great Commission: “… make disciples of all the nations …
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matt 28:19-20)

New disciples were to preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out demons, etc.
Pre-requisite for understanding this section:
In the NT churches, all of the 5-fold ministry leaders (Eph 4:11) were
anointed with one or more of the 9 spiritual power gifts (1 Cor 12:1-11).
These gifts were special anointings given by Jesus only to some BACs.
There certainly was NO reason for Jesus to stop this after the apostles died.
Post-apostolic church leaders who did NOT have any of these spiritual gifts
were jealous of those who did, and this was unacceptable to them.
They decided to point to 1 Cor 13:10 as an excuse to do away with the gifts.
And many “have-not” church members went along with this rationalization.

WHY was this such a disastrous error?
God’s evangelization plan always had SWMs confirming the truth of the gospel.
He knew … gospel power + SWMs power … would produce the best results!
But, the new plan was to NOT ask for (or expect) God to perform His SWMs.
Removing the SWMs obviously resulted in many fewer conversions, and also
no one was being healed of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual problems!

(2) – The OSAS Doctrine: Once saved, always saved

This has obviously been a very popular doctrine for everyone to believe in.
The opposite doctrine has required heeding …
-- the many warnings about falling away from the faith, habitual sinning, etc.
-- Jesus’ commands such as: “be holy”, “be perfect (mature)”, etc.
Talk about a popular doctrine for everyone: “We cannot lose our salvation!”.

WHY was this such a disastrous error?
Christians (in name only) in the churches loved the easy-believism gospel.
BACs were put off their guard and allowed to live more spritually-careless lives.
This doctrine has caused multitudes of church-goers to miss heaven.
Talk about a perfect doctrine for Satan to foist upon God’s church!

My suggestion: If you are attending a church that teaches these errors:
-- ask God if He will allow you to leave now
-- if yes, leave, and find one that does not teach these errors

I would agree. I would add Calvinism.

I would add Arminianism with Presbyterian Calvinism and Augustianism as none are correct.

I favor Arminianism over Calvinism if I had to chose one or the other. But people don't seem to realize that Arminianism is really just a variety of Reformed theology, as Classical Arminianism held to total depravity and allowed for eternal security, and I accept neither. Its rejection of the U-L-I of Calvinism is what I agree with.

Your position is just as rejectable and "another gospel" than the Pauline gospel. Of course you have the right to beleive what you like as I do.

What about us depraved souls who are saved to the uttermost with only one half of the gospel?

Yes, sovereign grace, unreformed, landmark, missionary, baptistic followers of Jesus, the Christ, Son of the Living God, are still out here anxiously awaiting His return?

True followers of Jesus, The Christ, have always been a small group of fanatics--in every age.

Now what? Are we ready?

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Praise the Lord. We have a quorum. The Lord has kept His promise to never leave or forsake His Bride--through the gates of hell.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

I guess you haven't been paying attention lately ...

The Lord has kept His promise to never leave or forsake His Bride--
IF they do not forsake Him, which means not obedient, not willing to be sanctified, etc.!

Vich is what all of the WARNINGS and THREATS are all about.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.
Praise the Lord. We have a quorum.

If you will consider the seven letters to the churhes more closely you will soon discover that most promises for overcoming cannot be accomplished by individuals but are "church" problems that must be confronted corporately as a church. Second, the problems are all about "works" not salvation, as every letter begins with "I know thy WORKS." Third, every promise is related to the New Jerusalem in some connection but there are "saved" OUTSIDE the New Jersualem on the new earth (Rev. 21:24) who apparently did not overcome in the sense of obtaining these promises of dwelling in the New Jerusalem.

In other words your understanding, thus interpretations are flawed.

The church as developed many doctrines, or what men believed God was teaching in scripture, over its history. Some of the doctrines missed the mark. However, it is not easy to say this one is right and this one is wrong. We have well studied folks claiming opposites as God's simple truth.

1) Most would agree the Bible alone is the final authority for faith and practice, but in reality, the historical doctrines of men guide much of what we do in church today.

2) Are all men fallen, separated from God and corrupted, from conception? Some say no, most say yes, and some who say yes expand the corruption to result in Total Spiritual Inability, no one who has not been regenerated via Irresistible Grace can seek God or trust fully in Christ such that God would credit that faith as righteousness.

3) Have the sign and wonder gifts used to authenticate the New Testament authors ceased, or can folks still raise people from the dead using prayer and not paddles charged with electricity. Most say yes, they have ceased, but some say no. Both would say the other view is disastrous. :)

4) When did the first man, Adam, walk the earth? Six or seven thousand years ago is the view held by many, based on reasonable times for each of the generations listed in the Bible, but others say we do not know and should not say we do based on Job 38. The spllt between YEC and OEC simply weakens the ministry of Christ.

One thing we know for sure, speculation is the mother of false doctrine.

Praise the Lord, oh my soul! ...
Da Bibliotechster has done graduated me ...
from being an agent of Satan to just being interpretationally-flawed.
Whoopie!

.

It won't last, believe me.

You do realize, don't you, that you are not in the one true church? You know, the Landmark Baptist Church that God and Jesus are members of and that Graves and Christian discovered had existed since the beginning of time?

MOST dangerous was the soon deniel of the sufficiency of the Cross to fully justify and save a sinner, that the church went into a good works, co assisting God to save us mentality!

Modern worse thing is still that, AND deniel of the completed revealtion of god to us in the Bible, and the need to have abberant "charasmatic chaos!"

God ceased the "charasmatic" movement after Apostolic Age, and satan eopenned it in 1905!
