I was just reading about that yesterday, the chances of the next Pope being an American.
Everything I read said there was very slim or no chance of that happening.
I hear that he is a Republican! Maybe he'll flip some RCC Libs away from the dark side.

From what I’ve read, he’s viewed as a centrist, progressive on social issues, conservative on church issues and rejects the ordination of women. I’m surprised they didn’t elect a Francis clone, but they probably realized that woke-ism is a losing proposition.

Yes, the apostasy is absolutely going to continue. The question is, will it be slowed down for now or will it be accelerated? I guess time will tell.
