:applause: It took them some time, but I take my hat off to the NFL for finally taking agressive action towards those players who are nothing more than thugs! Here are two recent decisions that put two stars out for at least this season! :applause:

Domestic abuse, crime, and living foolishly needed to be examined, and I am happy the league has decided to clean up its ranks!

Will this stop others from making the same mistakes? Only time will tell...so what do you think about the leagues, new "Get tough" policy?

Now they need to clean up the cheap shots on players taken by other players during the games. These cheap shots can leave a man injured for a lifetime, and are often intentional, and not merely an accident!

My first thought is that they are only doing it in response to the NBA "racial remarks".

If saying something gets you into big trouble - then maybe violence should be punished.

I'm sorry but the NFL has bungled this from the word go. They've seen the images of Rice dragging his fiance out of the elevator unconscious and gave him a two game suspension. Now all of a sudden the video becomes available (and it is pretty tough to watch) and then they go into indefinite suspension.

What did they think happened on the elevator!? She got on it conscious and got off of it unconscious. Also, the NFL says they never saw the footage from inside the elevator which means that either a) they are lying through their teeth on this one or b) they completed the most half#%$* investigation. Also, the whole thing with Ravens fans giving him a standing ovation like he just beat cancer or something makes me sick. Rice doesn't belong in football but the NFL and Ravens stepped all over themselves on this one.

Which why I said, "finally got it right!" These pro leagues only care about the bottom line .... so if it takes the media shining light in their deep dark pit of profits over people, so be it!

Great points UOT:thumbs:

I agree, he should never be allowed to pay again ... and I am a Ravens fan.

Next question is, should other players be banned who have already been caught physically abusing their wives or other women?

Should there be a zero tolerance of domestic abuse. Once and you are out? I

That is the policy I believe should be put in place.

The new policy just published by the NFL is too lenient IMHO.

Goodell sent a letter to the NFL owners, which you can read in its entirely below, outlining the stiffer penalties: a six-game suspension without pay for the first offense and a lifetime ban for a second offense. Goodell specified that these rules will apply to all NFL personnel, including executives and owners, not just players. A player who receives a lifetime ban can petition for reinstatement after one year.

Righteous is correct. The teams and the NFL are primarily concerned with the all-mighty-dollar.

...Should there be a zero tolerance of domestic abuse. Once and you are out? I ...

Should this punishment be only for domestic abuse and "hateful speech"

How about other crimes -
How about too many traffic violations

And who decides???

TMZ tightened the screws down on the Ravens and NFL by exposing the elevator slugger in that video. They forced their hand imo. Kudos to TMZ for this...

That is what media needs to do. Maybe TMZ can do the same for the IRS scandal; the VA scandal; Benghazi; and "You can keep your plan if you like it?"

Now if they would just finally address the racially prejudiced bigots, the league might become a decent place again.
