Have any of you read Ernest Hemingway's The Nick Adam's Stories ?

How did you like it and what did you think about it?

I'm reading it for English right now and was wondering what you thought of it, and I have one question about the book: Are they isolated stories, or is it kinda like a journal on how Nick lived his life?
