Another joke my wife found in her late mother's belongings. Written many years ago.

An old man in Chicago disappeared. His family and friends were worried, and feared he was dead. They felt bad that he had not had a decent burial and planned a memorial service for the old man.

Just as suddenly, he showed up. The asked the old man where he'd been.

"In jail," he replied.

"In jail?"

"Yeah, for thirty days."

"What in the world did you do?"

"I didn't do nuttin'. I was walking down the street minding my own business. I saw a young girl crying and talking with a policeman. Suddenly she pointed her finger at me and said 'he did it! he did it!'

"I was so pleased, I pleaded guilty."
