The Orthodox Dress Code

Along with the Orthodox Seniority thread I looked into the nearest Greek Orthodox church, which is 50 miles away. There dress code read...

Orthodox Church dress code is what you might call your "Sunday Best." Women usually wear skirts or dresses, men wear long pants and collared shirts.

So many of the Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, and Charismatic churches I visit these days have no dress codes. I attended camp meeting this month to find the worship leaders in dirty shirts, shorts, and flip-flops. I have a YouTube site and can imagine losing subscribers over the poor dress code alone.

Many poor have been kicked out of churches, they were wearing the only ragged clothes they had left.
I wouldn’t take these dress codes to extremes.
