They also have one of the best coaches in the NHL.

After 13 years, Peter Forsberg is finally coming home.

Now let's trade Esche and see what we can get for him.

If you think they're stacked now, just wait until you see who we have waiting in the wings with the Calder Cup champion Phantoms.

I am a little disappointed that they traded the Fridge. He was the best goon we've had since Behn Wilson.

Wow...it looks as if there may be a chance that my dad's and brother's favourite team finally wins the Cup. :(

The only hockey team I ever supported.

Not a hockey fan, but going to school in the Philly area in the mid 70's I got to know them a bit.

I wouldn't be to uneasy, KJ, remember we are still Hockeytown. But they certainly did put together a great team despite the salary cap! I have a lot of confidence in Detroits front office, look how they are always able to get key players when they need them.

Dallas Stars look pretty good on paper as well. With the new opening up of the ice Modano (signed last night - finally!) and Sergi Zubov should really be able to shine!

I like Mike Modano. He is a Michigan native, and a real classy player.

The Red Wings were able to resign Matthew Schnider, he is pretty good. And they still have Yzerman, Zetterberg who is amazing.

    Broad Street Bullies...
I remember the day there was the parade when they won the Cup. There was so much buzz and excitement, they had to let us out of work (I worked on Broad Street in downtown at the time) because they knew we would be hanging out the windows if they didn't. I saw Bernie and Bobby waving to the crowd.

I never have kept up with them before or since.

Actually went to a game when they played the Soviet Red Army team.

The Philadelphia Daily News is reporting this morning that Jeremy Roenick will be traded (most likely to the L.A. Kings) to make room for Forsberg under the salary cap.

My thoughts at the game exactly - I was one of the hundreds mocking their hypocrisy. There attitude seemed to be "We are communists ... until it comes to money." [IMG]

The Shark Tank is a fun place to watch a game, thats for sure, especially for a poor hockeytown resident that can't afford tickets to the Joe. Whenever I am in the valley for work I check out the sharks home schedule
