Personally, I think a church should do anything it can to make the more superficial aspects of church attendance comfortable for visitors. Granted, that doesn't do any good if the message is not there.

However, as a serious means of evangelism, it doesn't even follow church-growth studies which show that clearly stated doctrine and expository preaching are key factors to an effective, evangelistic church.

Let's hope, they have more than a "nifty water closet."

    Oh wow. Incredible.

The salient observation is that "most evangelicals no longer believe that scripture is sufficient."

Plus I feel sort of sorry for them in their foolishness. Bathrooms are expensive, and once everyone in town who wants to see it has seen it, what then? It will have lost its drawing power. Big bucks down the toilet if you ask me.

Glanced at and read a bit of the 'link'

My thoughts? Both as to the article, and the story -

Somebody should have put a date on that pdf file because it will only get worser and worser....

Even Tchotchke's Restaurant on "Office Space" wouldn't make it as kitcschy as Christ's Family Church managed to make it, with a flowery "imagine (a walk into the bathroom)...writeup." Man o man you done lost your focus. :BangHead:

I don't guess you are allowed to "use it". :)

There's a church up the road a bit that is out in a remote area with no running water yet, so they have an outhouse.

I wonder if that attracts enough people or if they need another gimmick?

Perhaps they could fix it up to look like a rocket ship. "Buckle up, bonehead!"

It's really not too bad, though, except when there's about 5 feet of snow on the ground with -20 weather.

More appropriate than you probably realised, Tiny Tim, and stronger than you intended I imagine. In "British English" the word "crap" is a slang word, not particularly polite, for excrement :)

In that case, apologies everyone - I thought it meant a game played with dice! Sorry for time-wasting.
