The rapture & preterism...

As Salty indicated the "rapture" thread will soon be closed, I shall start a new one to remind everyone of the TRUTH of the coming event we call the rapture, & the FALSEHOOD of the myth known as preterism.

First, the SCRIPTURAL PROOF of the rapture:

1 Cor. 15:51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

And in 1 Thess.4: 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Rev. 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Now, while the word 'rapture' isn't found in Scripture, I believe the coming of the EVENT is very-plain in the above Scriptures, while others hint of it.

The rapture won't be the physical return of Jesus to the earth. He will call the saints to Him, not Him coming down to them. He will summon the souls of the dead saints from paradise first, then call those who are still alive, to meet Him in the air.

Again, the Scriptures couldn't be plainer. And Rev. 3:10 shows the rapture will be before the great trib begins. I believe the antichrist will have taken power by then, & he shall provide an explanation for the disappearance of millions that the unbelieving world will accept.

I shall write against the preterism myth in the next post.

Preterism is a false doctrine that says that the prophesied eschatological events all took place in the 1st century AD. "Full" preterism says there's nothing left to be fulfilled & that Jesus returned in 70 AD. The absurdity of this speax for itself.

"Partial" preterism says that all the events but the return of Jesus occurred then. This view is just-as-absurd. I shall explain why.

First, many prets insist that Nero was the beast/antichrist. Let's prove that false at once. The TRUE beast must meet every Scriptural criterion for the beast EXACTLY, TO THE LETTER, & Nero came up short in many of them. First, he was appointed Caesar by his uncle Claudius Caesar, & confirmed by the Roman Senate. He did NOT uproot 3 other rulers to become Caesar. He did NOT have a false prophet as a sidekick. He was never known to have been in Jerusalem at all, let alone entered the temple. He worshipped the Roman pantheon of gods/goddesses & not himself nor a "god of fortresses". And he died; he as NOT cast alive into the lake of fire. So much for Nero being the beast.

Next, Jesus said, in Matt. 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Plainly, by Jesus' own words, if the trib has already occurred, Jesus is long-overdue!

Prets have a practice of reducing certain Scriptures to "figurative/symbolic" status in their own minds to try to make them fit their pronouncements. This is violating God's command, given in both Testaments, to not add to nor subtract from His word, which, of course, includes making up new meanings for it. That's the ONLY way prets can make their myth fit Scripture!

The TRUTH is, history, compared with Scripture's TRUE meanings, proves preterism completely false. Most of Revelation is literal, or semi-literal.For example, 'dragon' refers to the real Satan. 'Menorah & olive trees' refers to 2 special witnesses during the trib, who will be men, as Jesus explained to Zechariah & later, John. And Jesus' Olivet Discourse is, of course, literal.

Yes, the preterism myth is man-made & false!
