The 'reproof of Life...'

Proverbs 15:31 says, 'The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth abong the wise.' What is this 'reproof of life'? Is this conviction of a lost condition? What does [Solomon] mean by this?

I'd say it means that he who learns from his mistakes and their consequences, is wise.
