The Sabbath Law

Amazing that you can with a straight face quote traditions of men to Him, while you hold to the false teaching on the Sabbath binding to NT saints of your false Prophetess Ellen White!

Among the many sources that affirm key points of the Sabbath doctrine - and yet debunk your "well then it is all Ellen White's fault" speculation --

Moody makes HIS claim as he opposes Sabbath breakers.

DWIGHT L. MOODY

The Ten Commandments:
Exodus 20:2-17

.
The Fourth Commandment
Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:for in six days the LORD made heaven and Earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath Day, and hallowed it.

THERE HAS BEEN an awful letting-down in this country regarding the Sabbath during the last twenty-five years, and many a man has been shorn of spiritual power, like Samson, because he is not straight on this question. Can you say that you observe the Sabbath properly? You may be a professed Christian: are you obeying this commandment? Or do you neglect the house of God on the Sabbath day, and spend your time drinking and carousing in places of vice and crime, showing contempt for God and His law? Are you ready to step into the scales?Where were you last Sabbath? How did you spend it?

I honestly believe that this commandment is just as binding today as it ever was.I have talked with men who have said that it has been abrogated, but they have never been able to point to any place in the Bible where God repealed it. When Christ was on earth, He did nothing to set it aside; He freed it from the traces under which the scribes and Pharisees had put it, and gave it its true place.

"
The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." (Mark 2:27)

It isjust as practicable and as necessary for men today as it ever was- in fact, more than ever, because we live in such an intense age.

The Sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. The fourth commandment begins with
the word remember, showing that the Sabbath already existed when God wrote this law on the tables of stoneat Sinai. How can men claim that this one commandment has been done away
[FONT=&quot]with when they will admit that the other nine are still binding?

I believe that the Sabbath question today is a vital one for the whole country. It is the burning question of the present time. If you give up the Sabbath the church goes;
if you give up the church the home goes; and if the home goes the nation goes. That is the direction in which we are traveling.

1. Moody claims the 4th commandment - Sabbath was given to MANKIND in Eden. So does the Baptist Confession of Faith - by contrast DHK thinks it was only given to Israel - starting at Sinai.

2. Moody claims that the Sabbath - of the 4th commandment REMAINS in effect from Eden until today and is just as needful today as it ever was. By contrast DHK condemns Sabbath keepers.

3. Moody claims that Sabbath breakers who insist that the 4th commandment Sabbath was done away with have no grounds to stand on. DHK claims that he vehemently opposes Sabbath KEEPERS.

It would be unfair to list this as DHK being at war with the Bible points listed above - and with D.L. Moody on those points listed - without stating that there are others here that would be at war against it as well.

Yeshua1 here is a good place for you to explain one more time how the Baptist Confession of Faith - and D.L. Moody are getting their Sabbath ideas - that are opposed to your traditions -- from Ellen White.

in Christ,

Bob

Nowhere in Scripture does it ever say or do we ever read "the number of the Sabbath is its name." That is your imagination gone wild.

The facts are that the Sabbath law is applied beyond any particular day "of the week" in leviticus 23-25. It is applied to the resurrection first day of the week (Psal. 118:20-24; acts 4:10-11; Mk. 16:9). Nothing you have said changes those facts but only contradicts those facts.

<<Nowhere in Scripture does it ever say or do we ever read "the number of the Sabbath is its name." >>

Correct! Why should we read unnecessary and silly things like you suggest we would have read, to know that a day-of-the-week's number is used as and for its name? It was not I who wrote or said we must read in Scripture where it says ---quoting YOU, <<"the number of the Sabbath is its name.">>
That was YOUR imagination pal, <gone wild!>

Nevertheless, What is Hebrews 4:4 "Where God thus concerning the Seventh Day spake: And God the day [NAMED] The Seventh Day from all his works rested", than where we in Scripture read the number of the Sabbath is its name???

And again it is YOUR imagination gone wild that <<The facts are that the Sabbath law is applied beyond any particular day "of the week" in leviticus 23-25.>>
<<the Sabbath law is applied>> to ONE <particular day “of the week” in leviticus 23-25.>>
It is the word, “rest-day”, “sabbath” as such, which in three <particular> places is <applied> for ANOTHER day than “the day The Seventh Day Sabbaths OF THE LORD GOD”. It is no application of the <<Sabbath law>>!
[Three instances ---in the Scriptures, in two only ‘feasts’, ever.]

Man, I hate to ‘apply’ the word, ‘lie’. I even prayed God to help me never use the word again. But it IS, A LIE—A DOUBLE LIE—, <<It>> —<<the Sabbath law>>, <<is applied to the resurrection first day of the week (Psal. 118:20-24; acts 4:10-11; Mk. 16:9)>>. The <first day of the week> is not and has never been <applied> to Christ’s Resurrection or the day which Christ rose from the dead on.

And if I don’t tell you you’re LYING, I’d be a LIAR MYSELF!

jesus said that whoever receives Him thru faith as their Messiah already have passed over from death to life, have eternal life now, wonder why he forgot to add in, also those who keep sabbath day?

Are you asking the Saviour this; or are you just telling Him what sort of Saviour He is [according to you]?
