Hello, could someone please tell me why the fourth commandment of God is of none effect to christians today, when the messianic Jew's still observe the sabbath why don't the christians today?
Are the commandments not in effect today did God do away with them when Jesus died and rose again?

I feel that all the Ten Commandments are to be followed today, Rev 14:12 "Here is the patience of the Saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus".

Here is a Baptist website that has some interesting teaching on the subject -

I am reminded of Matthew 12:1-13. It is more imperative to our Christian walk to worship the Lord of the Sabbath--the one that is greater than the temple. Jesus did not do away with the Sabbath, just as he did not do away with any of the law. He made everyday the Sabbath when the one greater than the temple was moved into our hearts. We cannot get wrapped around a calendar, no more than we can get wrapped around the physical place of worship, and limiting that worship and reverence to a specific day.

For the same reason they don't keep the second commandment against images with pictures on display at home or hidden in their wallets.

    Numbers 33
52 Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:

Yes, and if you feel the need to keep them by all means, you should try to keep every single one of them, even the very least of them, all 613.

Exactly right. As Christians we have our Sabbath rest in Christ Jesus 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Romans 14:5-- One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.

Colossians 2:16-17 -- Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a sabbath day-- things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.
