Of course this sanhedrin is nothing more than a group of respected rabbis forming a committee of experts to recreate the temple. The actual sanhedrin was the equivalent of the supreme court. This new group is not officially recognized by the ministry of justice. I see a long political and religious fight from zealots (now called hassidic jews) and modern government supporters. Perhaps in the future the ministry government that is a mirror of Britan will collapse and a new king will be crowned placing the sanhedrin in actual power. Until then they are just another small group with no real authority or power.

Sounds like this group is just in the 'talking about it' phase. Personally, I have enjoyed the antics of the 'Temple Mount Faithful' over the years. I have to give them credit for their determination to lay marble cornerstones for the construction of the third temple. I believe each cornerstone weighs in the neighborhood of 4 - 6 tons each, and also believe that they have been unsuccessful in getting them to the temple mount. I sometimes catch myself cheering them on.
